I was a teenagers in the 90s and was naturally into the indie music of the time - Oasis, Blur, Ocean Colour Scene, The Verve, Manic Street Preachers etc. I was a bit young to be fully into it - didn't go to my first gig until 2000 - but in the days before readily available music I listened to my few cds alot.
This lead into an interest in bands in the early noughties like Stereophonics, Travis, The Strokes and Coldplay. As the decade continued I found another wave of indie bands that i enjoyed - mainly the Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Hard Fi, The Kooks, Razorlight, Athlete.
But since 2008 or so i've struggled to find any new bands that I can relate to. I know that most people's musical tastes start to 'stick' around their 30s, and i'm always finding new classic artists to listen to, but I am wary of giving up on new music. I'd like to go to a gig which isn't a reunion tour or a festivals that isn't 'nostalgic'.
So does anyone else from the Britpop era still listen to modern indie bands? Am willing to give them a try.
Thanks
