EE - Cindy scene change in April 2014?

This has been something floating around in the back of mind for months, but I never bothered to chase it up. I did tonight, and now I'm kicking myself. Cindy has been my dark horse throughout. I kept coming back to her, but I had other more prominent suspects that I fancied it being more, but now on the eve of the reveal, with Cindy seeming the obvious choice, I wish I'd pointed this out sooner.

I remember being so excited around the time that the story was announced, and scowering every article and news piece that I could find about it for clues. I remember seeing spoiler pictures of when Ian had to tell the family about Lucy's death, and specifically ones of him telling Cindy and Bobby. When the episode aired however, we didn't actually see him tell them. We saw him sit them down and start to talk, then we followed Denise into the kitchen, and heard their reactions through a closed door.

You can see the pictures here:

The scene as it aired, is here: (starts around 4:30)

At the time, I wondered if they simply found those scenes to upsetting to show, so instead left them heavily implied. That episode was the one that ended with the Peter roar, so alternately, maybe they wanted to highlight that scene, Peter obviously being the closest sibling to Lucy.

Now though... Is it possible they cut the scene because they felt it doesn't fit with Cindy being the murderer? Cindy looks genuinely shocked and upset in the photos, not like somebody being told something they already knew. Cindy was never that upset about Lucy.

Maybe I'm just speculating over nothing, but after all this time, it's something that I wish I'd openly pondered before!

I genuinely think it is Cindy, and wondered that at the time with that scene.

I've been saying since Christmas it was her.

I think it's Cindy now too but I think it's a shame to turn her into a murderer, she would have been an interesting character to have growing up on the square. Also don't see why they had her get pregnant now.

omg in the scene Cindy is wearing a top with horns on, and Ian makes a point of telling her to take her coat off!

In the picture scene she's wearing the same sort of top, but with the letter M on.

Wow thanks for posting looks like we all know now

Extra drama. She gets bundled into a police car while wailing "What abaht ma baby?!"

Jane can have the responsibility of looking after a child, an opportunity she never thought she'd have.

I think it was self-defence as Lucy did some coke and went into a rage over her telling Ian about her drugs - hence why Emma said "it's still murder".

Who dumped the body then?

I think Max did, after thinking Abi was the killer.

Maybe she died outside of the Beale house by the gate and Max spotted her whilst taking Tramp for *that* 5 minute walk, presumed because of Abi having argued and "hit" her, dumped the body and went back home and told Abi.

I guess that's the big question. I can't see Jane dumping Lucy, effectively her daughter, so callously in the woods. Maybe she got Mas to help? Though he did say tongiht "I've never seen you like this" when presumably she'd have been in even more of a state then.

That we don't know but it could be jane , Ben, or jay , max or maybe even phil ? But why would they help?

Nice spot, doesnt one of the past preview/trailes say "M is for Murder" and she is wearing a tshirt with M when Ian tells her Lucy died in the photo, even though as you said in the video she has horns on the tshirt.

I've thought all along that that was done do cover up any dodgy child performances....

I also thought it was more to cover up the fact that it's quite a hard scene to act out, especially for young actors and so to avoid any awkward performances (particularly from bobby) they did it that way.

Plus even if Cindy was the killer, didn't DTC say they don't realise it yet? Or even if she does now, she might not have at the time and so would have still been genuinely shocked and upset (even if it was the realisation she had killed her, she'd still be horrified).

If Cindy is the killer, why did she send herself the music box?

Classic line from Bobby there as Ian's about to tell them, 'can I watch telly?'

'No telly for you, you little shit, you just killed your sister!!'
