Could be a red herring

Could easily seen Mick kill him by the end of the week - especially taking Nancy hostage

Well that's just wrong, he must be punished for rape.

He says in the article that he had recently filmed scenes with Timothy West where he was sobbing his heart out - I doubt they will be in tonight's episode, with what's going on, so it looks like he'll at least stay past this week.

Unless off course he was lying... to keep up the surprises for the Anniversary week

If does get killed off (though I doubt it) maybe he was brought in purely for that when the sl was conceived but we viewers weren't to know.

Like with Lauren Crace, Danielle was killed off totally unannounced but was brought in for 8 or so months as a major plot device for Ronnie.

But with the Shabnam stuff I can't see DTC getting rid of him this week.

I wonder if Dean will link into the Lucy storyline? When he was watching the Vic and smoking last night it reminded me of the person who was doing the same thing before Lucy died. Were they reminding us of that person as well as letting us know that Dean was back?

That's interesting. Come to think of it, Emma got that brainwave on 30 December when Dean rushed into The Vic. Maybe his presence triggered something in her thought process that night. As viewers we were led to believe it was about one of the official suspects. Perhaps seeing his face led Emma to something we never considered. Dean wasn't in the NYD episode but maybe he met Emma in the park without appearing on screen.

I'm glad he's staying if only to irritate the hell out of annoying Linda and Mick.

Except that's Shabnam's storyline, not Dean's. If Dean dies, Shabnam's storyline of looking for her child will still continue.

I hope so. Mick should ideally get Dean sectioned since prison is not an option in this storyline.

I still think there was a reason why we saw Dean the week before Lucy died and then didn't see him for a month - it was like they were planting him on the Square before it all happened. I wouldn't be surprised if he's in the flashback tonight.

So he will take Nancy hostage and pour petrol all over her yet we are still to expect him to stick around? if Shirley forgives him for doing that to her granddaughter she is even more stupid than I thought.

Dean just needs to leave before the whole thing becomes even more far fetched.

I don't think Dean killed Lucy but maybe if Denise killed her, Dean helped her cover it up? Though of course that doesn't explain Denise going straight round to Ian's when she found Lucy's phone and purse.

Well from the spoilers it seems Dean has every intention of burning Nancy to death so certainly has it in him to kill.

I don't think there is any way back for him now.

They did the same with Ben as well, let the viewers know he was out of prison and around before Lucy died - obviously we know that he will be in the flashback episode though. I wouldn't be surprised either if Dean features somehow.

I think he could have a breakdown (which would be incredible to see live!) and therefore that's why we don't see him next week.

It looks like he's staying so something has to give - he can't carry on the way he has been/going to be tonight, without something drastic happening to move the storyline along. It doesn't seem as though the police route is going to happen so I can't think of anything else as it also doesn't look like he's going to be killed off.

Yeh, even though Dean isn't credited, I'm expecting shocks to happen.

Maybe he has a breakdown in front of Stan and that is the scene he was talking about? Could be saying goodbye to him as he knows it will be the last chance before he's arrested/sectioned?

I could see a breakdown and a confession happnening to Stan. Dean is closer to him than anyone, and it was through Stan that led to Dean's reapparance.

I think he still might die, the fact they are doing a live wedding, and a live birth, makes me think that we will get a live death as well.

It's going to be very interesting what happens with the rape storyline and how it concludes.

There is already another story bubbling away for Dean, in that he is the father of Shabnam's abandoned child. That is sure to come out and wouldn't make sense if they were going to kill Dean off at the end of the rape story.

It's become a bit of a cliche to have the rapist die, so I doubt that he is going anywhere.
