2 years ago EE was a mess. Now it's simply the best

So congratulations to all involved for a cracking episode. Loved it.

He's great for sure but I hope he doesn't become cocky and do dumb storylines in the future! Kudos for keeping us gripped with Lucy story and doing the inevitable Kathy return!!

This Kathy twist is concerning, though. I fear Eastenders just lost its credibility.

I wish Dominic could think up a way to bring back Tiffany too

Martine herself even tweeted she wished could be part of the 30th anniversary tonight.

I don't understand the fears about bringing Kathy back losing credibility. It happened off screen. That's basically a blank slate in drama.

And she hasn't returned to see her two sons at all? Especially after everything they've both been through. Her granddaughter is dead and her other son is a murderer.

Using your logic it's okay to bring back Cindy Beale too?

Don't speak too soon. The first two episodes were great but the last one felt too jumbled, like they'd just throw anything in to add an extra bit of tension/drama when it should have been all Lucy.

Let's just see if the flash back pulls it out the bag (think it will).

DTC has said him and the writers have spent months coming up with a credible way to bring her back and they believe they have. I have faith in DTC that there's no way he'd do this storyline unless it all made sense and it was plausible.

I tell you what, no soap will ever match up to that. Who needs a stunt?! EastEnders is firing on all cylinders and is INCREDIBLE lately!

Katy was killed off screen with no funeral etc. So they could easy come up with something to explain what happened and i recon it will be good.

I'm thrilled with Kathy being back don't get me wrong but doesn't anyone find it laughable she's only turned up now months after one of her sons killed someone and went to prison where as the other one lost his daughter?

It's gotta be a good explanation.

The last few months have been epic, sure there are times it doesn't quite hit the mark but I had abandoned EE several years ago but I love it now, DTC has turned it around... I'm hooked!

Erm? Excuse me?:/ It's the 30th anniversary of EastEnders? It's not all about who killed Lucy and WE KNEW it wouldn't be the only plot like this week!

The flashback episode will be all about Lucy, so

I agree. Very pleased Kathy's back. But it's going to have to be a bloody good excuse.
