I love both characters dearly so its hard to choose.

Part of me thinks Cindy would have been the more interesting.

Kathy coming back is far more interesting. The fact Ian might see his mom again! Will be amazing to watch.

Yes but Cindy and Ian together again would have equally as riveting.

Also to see Cindys relationship develop with her son and daughter she never knew Cindy Jr.

I wish both could have returned lol

Pat, but Kathy is a good consolation prize.

Who killed Cindy Beale is currently airing on BBC1

Kathy easily.

Cindy was just a bitch. Like a poorer version of Janine.

Kathy, hands down. She'll be the next June Brown - Gillian will never, ever leave again. I'll see you all for the 50th when she kills Ian lol.

I agree she was in prison when she "died" and didn't like Ian so had every reason to fake her death for something that happened inside.

But hey lets see how they explain Kathys nine years away lol

Kathy, Gillian will never leave again now she is back. Michelle is unreliable so probably would have quit after six months.

Cindy was never really an outright bitch though. Her woes were aimed at Ian only. She was actually more of a slag than she was a bitch.

Kathy.

Sharon has the 'pouty for no obvious reason' market sewn up

Are you American or was it auto correct. It is Mum in this country not mom

Neither, I'd prefer Pat. Obviously it couldn't be her since we saw her die, but yeah.

I think the key lies in the fact she is an original character. After 30 years not many can realistically return or have any links now (how could you bring back Sue Or Ali Osman for example) In a way it is symbolic and iconic that they have brought back Kathy, she was in that first episode 30 years ago and her son Ian is still around, another from the first episode

Cindy as Michelle Collins is a better actress than Gillian Taylforth.

Kathy, because now if Cindy came back, I'd think "Oh, it's Stella from Coronation Street!".

I guess it depends on your age but to me she was always Cindy Beale putting on a Lancashire accent when in Corrie.

Funny that, cause round our neck of the woods it's never "mum" or "mom" its "mam"
