Jane didn't tell him she was dead
Surely he would have figured out he did it when Ian told him the following day that she'd died?

Bobby thinks she isnt dead as he said "Whatever she says, she started"

In that line, it lets us know he think she is alive and put the blame on him... for hitting her and so on

Jane i assume got the body out of the house and Bobby thinks she went to the hospital or something and then died. And also Bobby being a kid would probably put the bad stuff out of his mind as in blocked it out

This.

He hit her, she wasn't moving. Next day she is reported missing and then dead. He's 11 not 3.

Unless he is literally retarded, he should know. He's at secondary school, which means he's old enough to realise that if he didn't see someone move again, after bashing them in the head with an object, he's probably responsible for their death.

Not true. She was found on the common, dead. Suspected mugging. With her phone and bag missing. He would not necessarily realise it was because of him.

He's 10 or 11?? After watching tonight I assumed he was supposed to be about five. It's completely absurd to expect us to believe a ten year old would act in this manner. They would have to be under five to not be able to grasp such simple principles of cause and effect. Whoever dreamed up this storyline clearly doesn't know anything about children.

Yeah and far as i can see he thinks she got out of the house herself and was mugged in the common, there is no way Bobby is going to think he did it after thats the evidence he knows and was reported by everyone

Obviously Jane lies to him and gets him out of the way in order to cover up what happened,
I would imagine Bobby has some inkling that he hurt Lucy that will come to the fore at some stage, but for now he's been repeatedly told by his 'Mum' that he didn't and that she was fine and maybe decided to go for a walk, or meet her friends and he really shouldn't mention it as Daddy/Peter might be upset etc etc, it's surprising how easy it is to manipulate a ten year old simply because they are innocent and believe what they are told.
Bobby has never been portrayed as very grown up for his age and it is believable that for a limited amount of time Bobby would believe Jane. Unless of course he's an evil serial killer in the making and planned the whole thing all along!

It's probably also why he was collecting those newspaper clippings of Lucy when he went missing, maybe he was trying to figure out what happened to her after he hit her and Jane would have just kept coming up with excuses not to talk about it.

Don't forget the weeks spent in Birmingham. I'm sure it was reconciled between Bobby and Jane then.
