Abis shirt being ripped confirms there was more toe the fight than just the first slap.

That was great. It sounded kinda shocking coming from formerly meek, mild mannered door-answering Marge-owning Abi.

Always liked Abi for being a slightly mousey and sweet character. However, I LOVE her now she a completely lost the plot. Most unpredictable character right now and that's great.

Absolute highlight of the episode for me. Was expecting her to make an excuse for her ripped top so to just come out with that completely deadpan was hilarious.

This thread is so depressing to read.

Don't get me wrong, I think Lorna is brilliant and I'm glad the show is finally giving her stuff to do; to be given so many LIVE scenes is incredible and I'm more than happy for her, and I'm over the moon that viewers seem to be recognising her acting talent...

But Abi? How can people think her personality change is 'acceptable'? She changed overnight - far more than other personality transplants that happen in soaps, yet people are happy to just accept it? Completely baffling.

We've watched this girl grow up for nine years on the show, and then DTC comes swanning in and changes her and we're praising that? What does that tell him - and any other producer in the future? What is the point of us investing NINE YEARS into a character if producers can just come in and change them like the wind? What's the point? There's no point knowing characters history, there's no point falling in love with a character, there's no point to any of it at all, because producers are just going to come right in and do what THEY want with absolutely no respect for the character, their history or the viewers... and when people praise such moves - whether it's for the better or not is irrelevant - we're on a slippery slope.

With no Janine or Lucy the square is missing a bitch, hope Abi steps up.

I think most teens/young adults in soap go through that phase of going off the rails. Maybe its just Abi's turn.

Thing is, she was a suspect to have killed Lucy. So people perhaps thought "Ah, this makes sense" and ran with it. In hindsight it is a bit strange, although Tanya atleast addressed this on Wednesday.

She's behaving very similarly to Lucy as a younger teenager.

But the new Abi makes sense, it's the good one that didn't, but maybe that was Jay's influence, he kept her on track, just like he's trying to do for Ben.

Abi has had a rough ride-her parents constanly rowing, cheating, leaving and even trying to kill each other, her sister almost dies, she fails every exam she seems to take, loses her boyfriend and kills her dog. Being good wasn't really working and she flipped out.
Meanwhile her sister got to do what she liked, drank til she got sick, slept with whoever she wanted, yelled at and smacked her friend but still kept them, got given jobs with ease and ends up with fiance and baby.

not a surprise she dunked Lauren with the apples really lol

I agree. Well, Lauren wasn't pregnant when Abi flipped, but yeah.
Also Jay has never seemed to adore Abi in the way Peter does Lauren, Abi was probably jealous that she was never worshipped like that.

At least it is being addressed in the show itself, how much she's changed.
