Totally agree! Tonight made me realise what a great actress and character the show has lost.

Did Hetti want to leave or was she written out?

Seems crazy such a great character/actress was written out just so they could make Bobby a murder... the resulting fall out better be worth it!

I hadn't liked Hetti's Lucy so far, but the stuff from her death week and the flashback really shows that she could have had potential. But no, they had to kill a legacy character because of a little boy's tantrum.

makes it even worse when you put it like that legacy character killed off by a 10 year old kid, I genuinely think dtc will live to regret killing her off especially as peter is leaving.

Agree she's a big loss to the soap.

She was written out. Adam asked DTC if he was sure.

For me they should have killed off a older character like Kat or Sharon rather than Lucy.

It's even more annoying with Peter leaving. Where as you imagine Hetti would have stayed.

I could never get used to Hetti's Lucy because I liked Melissa's which is why I wasn't bothered about her death but after this storyline and the flashback she kinda grew on me. I'm surprised DTC killed her off considering she's the daughter of an original character.

I never cared for Lucy under the old actress but as soon as Hetti came in I knew Lucy had become a character with great potential. She was very complexed and often blurred the lines between good and bad which would have been great to explore.

Her scenes with Jane especially showed her potential, I do think its a shame they killed her off but it has made a great storyline. I think "Who killed Peter" wouldn't have been as successful.

They could have killed off Jane though, that could have been quite a big storyline.

When you put it like that then yes it does sound like a stupid idea.

So much seems to have been sacrificed just to facilitate this story of Bobby killing somebody. I'm thinking mainly in terms of characters acting out of character.

I don't think the decision was a bad one (other than Bobby) but I never realised until tonight how much I actually miss Hettie as Lucy.

Hetti was good in flashback but pretty poor the whole time before that. It was right to kill Lucy to create all these waves and bring Kathy back!

I have to agree. Although I like Peter and Jane, Lucy was always a much more interesting character. I think they wanted maximum shock for this storyline so chose the young, pretty girl in the family to kill off, as it seems more tragic for some reason.
