The worst part of the reveal was....
...That we don't know the real circumstances surrounding why Bobby hit Lucy.
I must admit...I am half annoyed but also shocked as I didn't suspect Bobby until about a week ago when I came on here, but as many said Bobby's character is minor, had he been in the forefront that it would be completely different. But back to the thread....what caused him to hit her? I mean, he came down stairs...did he just walk past Lucy, pick up the box and whack? Doubt so, which makes me wonder why. I guess a little argument insured and Bobby got upset and hit her. But that really needed to be shown to fully understand why. Prior to this, we saw nothing from Bobby indicating he resented her for arguments that took place in the Beale house or things that went wrong, so why did he suddenly snap that night? I can't believe it was just for the argument he overheard with Denise. Does he forget that his dad ran off and Lucy looked after him and the businesses? I can't see how tonight will explain why he did it, cause I think Jane hurried him back upstairs whilst she dealt with Lucy. For me that is the most annoying part right now, why did he hit her...? I assumed that would be explained. |

We are suppose to forget about how just months previous Lucy had loved and taken care of him like a mum when Ian had done his vanishing act! We are also suppose to beleive that this young child with zero history of violence or mental problems is suddenly turned into a violent murderer and for no real apparent reason. Just like we are suppose to beleive that Lucy was a cocaine addict when there had been no previous evidence and that her own brother was her dealer. However DTC is beyond reproach and who can do no wrong.

Exactly I thought every loose end was going to be tied up. I was expecting to see confrontation and ti see the killer blow to the head. I also wanted to see her body get moved to the common. Ok I really didn't want it to be Bobby but if we were made to understand fully as to why it will take the edge of an awful end to a fantastic storyline.. ok I no we still have an episode tonight to go but still everything we needed to know as to why lucy died on good Friday we didn't get to see it

we still have tonights episode so hopefully we might get more of an explanation as to why but I am still not totally sure why DTC made Bobby the killer
the word "monster" have been mentioned alot - DTC even said that the killer would be a monster - Bobby isnt a monster.......... is he? I really am genuinely baffled by the reveal |

I can grasp how someone can snap...even a child.
But what made him snap, that's the question. Did Lucy tell him to go back to bed and he got angry...lol. I think Bobby must have said something like, why do you keep running off, why do you and dad argue a lot and then the fatal blow happened. The most important part of this all has been left out. Will we find out tonight? |

I think the flashback episode should of been on for an hour instead and the previous episode should of been on for 30mins.. then we could of saw more of good Friday and the final showdown between lucy and Bobby

The hour long episode felt as if it was stuffed with events just to fill up time ( eg Kim giving birth ) whereas the flashback didn't really show us what happened.....

They couldn't make the flashback episode show us what happened on the common because it would have all had to have been live or who killed her would have leaked. That just wouldn't have been practical. Better off we just get told what happened tonight.

I am sorry. But we had to been shown what led Bobby to hit her, its the missing piece that adds that all up.

Just feel like this whole week of eastenders I've been cheated.. ok I never wanted it to be Bobby but I put that mainly down to the fact that I as a viewer have no type of emotional connection to him as a character if that makes any sense.. I forgot most the time that he is even on the show.. no time and effort is put into the character to have got a reaction they wanted..there has been no hint of any bad blood between him and lucy and the flash back episode were he was hearing Denise and lucy argue and we're he said to Jane at the end something along the lines of she makes everyone unhappy it all seemed very rushed and out of character..
I just can't accept that Bobby was the killer from the start I don't no why but it just felt rushed |

We'll never see the final scene of Bobby doing it because of how completely stupid it would probably look. An 11 year old killing a healthy grown women. Wouldn't be surprised if they had already tried to rehearse it and realised how unrealistic it'd look on camera so decided to let us use our imagination instead. It's quite comical really.

The whole damn thing... even though it was months in the planning it seemed like they did a rush job on a Sunday afternoon, whilst having a pub lunch, and then telling Bobby on the Monday and winging it. It answered the major question of who the killer was but even now to me the unanswered questions don't matter no more because most of the story means nothing anymore. The showdown has to be the stuff the legend now.

It's quite believable IMO. Lucy had been hit pretty hard about 5 times that night, is it that difficult to believe that one more blow from a Jewelry box could have killed her?
As for the Lucy being like a Mum to him, that is what we see from our perspective but think of it from Bobbys. His dad suddenly disappears and now Lucy is all he has, and she clearly struggles with him. Then after about a month of that, when Ian finally comes home, she doesn't allow him to see Bobby and basically steals his businesses. Before this, Lucy was constantly stirring up trouble between Ian and Mandy as well and suddenly they are both gone from Bobbys life. Then long after all this, she starts causing trouble with both Ian AND Denise which Bobby clearly overhears. I think a lot of people need to think deeper into this. |

I don't think the flashback was really meant to show us what happened to Lucy. It was to show us where Lucy went, who she bumped into and where all the suspects were at the time. It did it's purpose. Not everything has to be shown visually.
I greatly preferred the flashback episode, but would have liked to have known exactly what did happen. Are we even sure that Bobby killed Lucy? I still can't believe it wasn't Peter! |

I can't see how Ben was still in the potential line up, as his finger prints would have been found at the flat and then he would have been arrested or eliminated way back.
The first place the police would have checked for blood and DNA is Lucy's home. Okay they searched her room, but they would have done the whole house to eliminate an accident/or murder happening there. It all could have and should have been solved by Easter Monday
