Welsh pantry faggots & mushy peas... Lush!

And the containers make great microwave dishes

I adore black pudding. Not that I eat it much because I don't eat many fry up breakfast, but if I have a gammon in the evening a black pudding goes lovely with it. It seems not many people realise that a black pudding is just a pigs blood congealed up. That sounds utterly revolting I know but despite what it sounds, it actually tastes delicious. I wonder if it is only a pigs blood that makes a great black pudding?

The only reason I know what they are is they seem common in Wales where my family is from. I've never heard of or seen them here (South-East England).”

Going from what i've seen/heard on tv cooking shows I think they are a Black Country and surrounding area speciality.

Made with what?

There is a recipe for faggots and onion gravy on the BBC website where it says the faggot has pork shoulder and pigs liver in the ingredients, and says they are a meal that is a throwback to the thrifty past.

I tried a haggis once and could barely manage a couple of bites of the thing. I'll eat most things but that was beyond me. Black pudding with a dash of ketchup is delicious though.

I've never tried faggots but I must admit that I feel I'm missing out.

Brains faggots cannot go on for this long for no reason especially as they have not added any other products to their repertoire such as 'faggot flavoured crisps'.

I'll have to try them.

Why, have you tried to eat it?

Really, this is not meant to be a double entendre thread, except in the minds of some.

In this day and age people will even see a pair of melons as something else, or even the innocent cucumber. Infact the list becomes endless!

You can't watch Channel 4 that much then Rich... You don't see many innocent cucumbers there!
