Could easily be either, you'd have to check the cabinets for any labelling.

I assume you're near here?

Was at the train station today, very strong 4G signal so I decided to have a look around.

Turns out there's an MBNL and a Cornerstone site right at the back of the parking lot. Pictures:

There's a video in there too, Three's Samsung cab was making a horrible racket, sounded like a fan wasn't going to last much longer. I noticed that this MBNL site looks almost the same as this other site, same layout and everything, the only difference being the antennas. The one I photographed at the train station today looks to have the newer huawei antennas whereas the other site has some older style antennas.

The Samsung cab is huge, EE's stacked 2G/4G cabs are much smaller in comparison. I don't know how these things survive outside in all sorts of weather. Next to it was an O2/Voda site, I only had a Three sim with me but it's safe to say it's 3G only based on the coverage map. On Three the highest speed I got was 14mbps but mostly below 10mbps, not very impressive but that's what you get with 10mhz of 1800 in a relatively busy area I suppose.

Would love to see some more MBNL sites up close if anyone is feeling adventurous

It is, ever been to the top ? The 7.5 minute lift journey (and H&S talk) is the scariest part of that !

There's a mention of Carruthers House in Dumfries having a bunker in the link below, it really does look like one of those masts. There's not really any other reason to over engineer it into that box shape other than to survive a nuclear strike some distance eg: 40 miles or more away. That's why it's such a beast, they aren't used anymore aside from mobile networks and microwave dishes and most of the bunkers are now just used for storage or disused.

No, only employees were allowed; I was a contractor.

Ok, well I thought I would walk up the footpath to the Bickleigh Brake Orange mast today and get some pics. Oh... and a video.
This mast is going to supply the new MIP mast at South Brent via MW link so I thought I would go up and see if they had done anything to it.
They haven't!!
It was installed in December 96 and this is telling by looking at the big cabin. it looks very old. Although I think the big cabin is O2 which was installed a little later.
The O2 2G antennas are massive but as you can see the original Orange antennas are still there.
The video shows how far it can "see".
At 2 seconds centre of the picture you can see the massive 35 Acre (yes 35 acres) solar array on the A38 at Marley head. My mast is here but too far away to see.

The video is excellent quality! I can't get close to my local masts. One is on top of a shopping centre above the 6th floor!

Thank you.
Well that would be interesting!
Bloody Dropbox downgrades it. It's much better straight off the iPhone.
I'm gonna do some more now.
I'm on a roll.
Everyone will leave this forum and never come back!!
