Max Martin

Does the name ring any bells?

Here is a compilation of all of the songs that Max Martin has been a part of (producing or writing) that have hit the Billboard Hot 100 in the last 20 years.

Seems rather remarkable, even if a lot of the songs seem very similar.

He's hugely famous and respected. one of the greatest songwriters of pop music in the last 20 years.

I was surprised at the output.

Though I'm more impressed by Diane Warren.

Max Martin is absolutely amazing. He has a formula which he has perfected since the 90s and it seems to work every time. I'd love to know what it is. According to those that work closely with him, it's like a science.

He's very talented at what he does. Of course the pub gig/indie parade will probably trash him for being a pop writer, but I'd love to see them try to replicate what Max does on the same scale.

He produced some of Britney's early songs. He produced the iconic Baby One More Time and most of the BOMT and Oops I Did It Again albums. I think he also produced Bombastic Love off her third album.

I hadn't realised I knew he did a lot of her first two albums though and Slave 4 U was produced by Pharrell Williams and The Neptunes.

But can anyone explain why Max Martin is credited with co-writing 5ive's Slam Dunk (Da Funk) with Tory Rottweiler Norman Tebbit?

Actually you're right. Just checked and he produced 4 tracks. So 33% lol.

The credit to Norman Tebbit is in the video linked by the OP but you're right, it does also appear in Wikipedia. Maybe whoever made that video [a] didn't fact-check and [b] didn't get the joke.
