possibly why i dont quite 'get' it as much as others... im not a clubber nor dancer, im a listener and like dance/trance for the melodies, and the uplifting effect the music has on me. FAA is possibly a great track to dance too... i wouldnt know nor can judge it from that perspective.

Good DJ back in the 90s and he had some great tunes. Not really paid attention to him since.

As a big clubber back in the day for an angel was so huge and had everyone in the clubs dancing regardless if there in the toilets or at the bars, 1998 had so many hits and i dont think there will be so many anthems from one year in the near future.

But like you said as someone listening to the melodies i understand why you dont 'get' it as much but for the era its got to be in the top 10 of all time.

the 90's saw dance music evolve through several different (and complimentary) styles (as im sure you know, obviously being a clubber!) so its no surprise really that there were alot of anthemic tracks through the 90's especially 98 (and id suggest 99) .

as i see it (and i might be wrong lol) anthems are born out of great movements and epitomise that time and place. unless we get any new great dance movements that a generation can call 'its own' , i reckon we will be very short on anthems.

90's dance music and really late 80's for me is the peak of that industry, could there ba an argument for early noughties? Yeah i think so but along came mainstream rap music and messed it all up.

99 did produce alot too but i think alot of people remember the commercial side more, but i agree with your last paragraph 100% looking at the last 10 years for example dance music has hardly changed and i could struggle to name 10 songs that have inspired a movement in the scene.

He dropped Milleniums 'Freedom Radio' into his 1997 Essential Mix, and that makes him an utter god as far as I'm concerned.
