Been really getting into them lately and my latest obsession is Phantom of the opera, that has some great music! I also love Cats, I have 6 cats myself! 'Memory' is a very catchy song (no pun intended: It's memorable!).

I hate Wicked though! Les Mis can be hard going but has some lovely songs

Really want to see the woman in black at some point

The lion king was amazing! Saw it over 10 years ago, would see it again, I liked it better than the film

I have two favourite musicals:

Singin' in the Rain

West Side Story

I have to add my praise for The Lion King stage show though - fabulous.

I really loved The Phantom of the Opera. Then Andrew Lloyd Webber brought out the sequel, Love Never Dies, which I thought was awful, and kind of put me off the Phantom as well. Not into musicals so much nowadays.

I love musicals and stage shows - my favourites so far have been We Will Rock You for the music, Lion King for the special effects and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers for the choreography. Next weekend I am off to see Mamma Mia then Jesus Christ Superstar in March

Jesus Christ Superstar - seen it about a dozen times over the years.

Riverdance was awesome too.

You have 6 cats!

I don't know how you have the time and energy to see any musicals. You must be completely overwhelmed by pussy.

I've only ever seen one, We Will Rock You. It certainly was memorable for the wrong reasons. They butchered my beloved songs and the story was absolutely mind bogglingly nonsensical.

Lion King

Hedwig and the Angry Inch. My friends were lucky enough to see John Cameron Mitchell as Hedwig in NYC. So jealous...

I got taken on a corporate night out a while back, dinner and Love Never Dies. I'm not a 'musical' kind of guy anyway, but it was dire. However, I was kept entertained by a fat girl, alone in the row in front of me, who stood through the entire performance, singing along to every number with tears streaming down her face. I think she may have seen it once or twice before

It's weird, I've never been able to get into musicals, though I love opera. Think for some reason I find it easier to buy into a world where people only ever communicate through song than a world where they talk normally but burst into song every now and then.

I'm jealous too! I just missed the chance to see Joel Grey in Anything Goes in NY, that would have been amazing.

I don't like opera because you can't hear WHAT they're singing, so what's the point?!?!

So I hate when opera-type singers turn up in my musicals

That's why I only go to see Wagner in German- surtitles are the key!

Yeah, but I carry on like that for the rest of the day too.

That...makes a lot of sense, yeah. The Ring Cycle's one of the only operas I'm tempted by, actually, but it seems like quite a hardcore way to start...
