Hello all,

I have just been told by EE that I'm on an EE-Extra 4G legacy tariff, I have just returned from the USA and have zero unfilled call/text usage, even though I had to call my CC company after a couple of blocked transactions and a few local calls for reservations etc.

I also checked my bill from last August for my DC trip, the calls are listed but not charged. This is fantastic news.

What other non-EU countries does this cover? It's a pretty awesome deal as I also get 25% off my monthly tariff and free 08x numbers.

How does your plan show the name?

By that i mean when you log in does it say 'EE Extra' or '4GEE Extra' etc...

I am also on an older plan, looks to cover the EU as well as Australia and America.

Can be used for calls back to the UK and also to the country you are in if I remember correct

It sure can be used for internal calls in the country you are visiting.

My plan isn't displayed differently and appears the same as my partners EU-only roaming tariff. It's only when I called EE that they checked 'a different system' to confirm. In addition, I checked my previous roaming bills and it's apparent from the lack of charges for my roaming mins/texts that I'm on the old legacy tariff. I switched to this when they first released double data speed but have upgraded since.

Happy days.

I've just been really clever and suddenly thought of the Wayback machine website!
I found it archived on there.
http://web.archive.org/web/201403261...aming-benefits

It has a rest of the would section which the current page doesn't have.

I award myself 10 points!

Yes, I'm on the same deal. It gives you (within your allowance)

Free incoming calls

Free outgoing calls and texts, to the UK, within the country you're in, and to any other country that's part of the deal. From memory EU, EEA, USA, Oz, Israel, China.
As the Wayback link in this thread confirms, although so far my experience is
that Voicemail retrieval calls are also free, though I'm on a business tariff, so that might
make a difference ?)

I was able to call free of charge, using my mobile in The Netherlands, our lad in Oz (go figure !)

You won't see anything mentioned as 'unbilled' on EE's totally shite app or portal, but you will see all activity itemised (as zero cost) on your next pdf or paper bill.

Thanks guys and thanks for the old web page.

Visual voice mail uses data so I don't have to call my voicemail when roaming.

This is very good news and a great deal.

You will need a data pack when roaming though for Visual Voicemail

By rights if you keep paying the bill you'll stay on that plan forever, but now Three has set a precedent by forcing people off old and discontinued tariffs, let's hope EE doesn't start to do this with its own legacy tariffs.

It'll be interesting to see what happens after Dec 15th.

I could move off of that tariff middle of September, but I probably won't because I'm
off to the US in October. However, the 'free' EU calls element becomes something that
should be applicable to all tariffs on Dec 15th (or does it ?)

I am not sure there's a concrete date for that, and even heard rumours it has been delayed. The operators are, as you might expect, fighting against this change quite hard!

Well with my discount I pay around £36 a month. I plan to stay on this tariff as long as possible. I upgraded in September but it appears that the agent kept me on the same tariff as I wanted the same data alllowance anyway.

I'll make good use of it on my trip Turkey and Vegas later this later.
