You wont see any 4G details on that site, not sure when it was last updated but it was before any network's rollout started.
If you tweet Three they might be able to tell you which mast should be serving your postcode, they certainly have done for me in the past. Or if you're in a more rural location (that doesn't just show blanket coverage) you can look at the coverage map and see where the coverage is originating from (strongest) |

Three won't be updating Sitefinder. If an android phone download LTE Dicovery, it will give you a rough location of the mast.

I tried that too, the mast location never shows up on the map. Also, they show no band details for Three masts.
Are you able to get into the service mode screen by dialing *#0011# ? If so take a screen shot when on that mast and send it and a debug email to the developer, they will update the APK to show your masts general location. Much quicker than having to log several masts. Band info will show up after logging a few. |

According to OFCOM, sitefinder was last updated in May 2012, with some stopping the updates as early as 2005. Make of that what you will lol

I think it was because they didn't want each other knowing where their masts were, although it's pretty obvious as most of them wont have moved location, only new ones will be missing and they still wouldn't be hard to find.
I know round here o2 put big stickers on their cabs saying call o2 on this number with any issues etc |

You have to log a few masts before it starts to learn the different masts and bands.

Quite frankly it's bloody daft and very childish.
It's like going back to the 80s where Vodafone and Cellnet were accused of taking angle grinders to each others masts Haha I mean, come on... seriously? The operators don't know where each others masts are? Bulls**t! If we can find the bloody things I think they can. Ofcom should make it mandatory but they don't have the balls. Now all networks are going to be erecting single masts, sticking all their services on them and sharing the cost as part of the Not Spot issue. Angle grinder isn't going to help there is it! Hahaha |

There are industry databases I think, just not published ones that are up to date.
Ofcom doesn't legislate, they just have regulatory powers based around the Communications Act 2002 and some other legislation which gives them certain powers. They are there to make sure we make best use of public radio spectrum and act in the interests of consumers around communication regulation. They could potentially write something into the licence about publishing mast locations, but there's no such requirement today. |

I guess it's only us techies that want to know but since it's our hard earned cash that is paying for them to be erected, shouldn't we know where they are and what technology is being used?

Do you know where Virgin Media's datacentres are, should your hard earned money that you pay to any company mean that you get to know about their infrastructure.
![]() Sitefinder came out of the Stewart enquiry into phone health, and its a big shame nobody in Govt is holding the mobile-telcos to account to comply with the Stewart recommendations. Some might say Ofcom are toothless. |

If they do that then every other radio transmission needs to follow the same rules, the police didn't like the Tetra locations being published and pulled them off the map. There are loads and loads of other radio transmissions that should follow the same requirement if they decide we do need a database and it has to be mandatory.
