Yeah, I have to agree. It seems weird to think it's taken 6 years for Paloma to finally get some proper recognition. I genuinely thought New York from 2009 was going to be the song that propelled Paloma to the heights of the music world.

Paloma Faith is a shining example of a record company standing by their artist and allowing them the time to continue developing and maturing whilst generating new fans.

Would've been ace to see Changing up for best British single as opposed to Somebody To Love.

I didn't rate her performance at all. it wasn't a good vocal performance and the stage setup was too similar from a bunch of other awards type show performances from other artists with the water shower. I was surprised to find out recently that her album sold so much. I thought she was a lost cause and would end up being a small selling artist doing stuff like buzzcocks, yet the other week I saw prince covering only love in London. the previous year in Camden she was in the audience of one of his shows. I do like her though

What exactly does that mean? Are you saying you can't be both?

I like Paloma, but she was the most successful british female of last year and that is likely why she won. I doubt she would of won if her albums and singles hadn't sold so well. Most of The Brits decisions of the winners are based on how successful the artist with sales and peaks. The only least commericial and lowest selling winner of that night was Royal Blood, which is no disrespect to them because i don't care how they sell or peak because that irelevant. But i am just proving a point.

I have found her rather unlikeable over the last few years as a person. Especially recently when she demanded she should of been up for Best Album, which i found very arrogant. You shouldn't demand to be nominated.Just be lucky you got nominated at all.

Her performance was a bit hit and miss. She sounded fantastic and the theme she did for the staging was gorgeous. But she failed miserably to hit the high notes at the end, as she does in the recorded version. Which makes you wonder that if she can't hit those notes live, did she really hit them in the studio and if she didn't, then we have an example of studio trickery.

Having seen her live a couple of times she thoroughly deserves her success.

As for her politics, I'm as interested in her politics as much I'm sure she would be in mine.

I love the way she sings, and writes, from the heart. Her style of singing may not be to everyones taste, some of the songs she sings such as Only Love Can Hurt are very difficult to perform live, but she always gives her all. At least her performance wasn't fake like Taylor Swifts last night. I couldn't care less who she votes for.

I saw her at The Great Escape several years ago, before her first album was released.
She followed a band who had done 2 or 3 covers on their set and when she came onstage she mocked the last act for doing so many covers. First rule of playing live never, ever diss another act - so that didn't go down well with the small crowd.
However the thing she didn't know was the previous band had hung round and were at the bar and heard her comment - one of the members walked up to the stage and waited for Paloma to finish her song then said something to her, which unnerved her. The rest of her set she was sung with nerves and she had to restart one song twice - at the end of her set she sang a cover and the crowd jeered her.

She's probably better now, but I got the sense she was a cocky little mare for this.

Unlike some other artists she can really sing live and doesn't need an army of dancers to make her look good. She comes across as quite down to earth and quirky, which I like.

Good for you, but people change.

Ive followed her career from the off and have been lucky enough to have seen her live several times. For me, apart from her beautiful music, the reason why I like her so much is because it's refreshing to see a real woman who doesn't have to resort to striping off or having her personal life plastered all over the tabloids to be a success.

Recently in York she called out a photographer who was attempting to take an upskirt picture of her. She said no woman would like that so why should she? And too right!

Just to clarify, where are the rules of performing live written down?

For me, she's as musically bland as Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.

Wasn't she meant to be performing with someone she's known for 19 years?

I've performed at The Great Escape twice and both times I recieved a check list of timings for the performance(s), any rules the venue your assigned may have, and a bunch of general festival rules/etiquette - it's here where they say you should show respect to the other artists performing. I'm sure I can find one of my copies if your that interested?

She hit them live perfectly on her tour. So she can.

Why? The music sucks too if that makes any difference? She's diet Amy Winehouse with none of her charisma.

If the music sucks why did you go off her? Surely if her music sucks there would be nothing for you to "go off"?

Caught out, perhaps?

Cos I saw her being interviewed on Graham Norton or ALan Carr...one of the 2...and thought she was kinda fun...in small doses. Maybe sucks is too strong a word.....I am...indifferent to it I guess.
