Songs which are both brilliant and awful
There are two songs in my view that fit into this category of being brilliant and awful at the same time. They are;
Dan Hill - Sometimes When we touch. Very moving and intense song, but the lyrics are possibly a bit too cheesy and creepy. Look up the circumstances behind Dan Hill writing this song, you will laugh John Denver - Annie's Song. Great song, everyone knows its "You fill up my senses" chorus. But what damages this song's credibility is that when John Denver divorced his wife Annie who the song is about, she cut their bed in half with a chainsaw! Also, I'm sure John Denver didn't intend for it to be the tune of Sheffield United FC anthem "Greasy Chip Butty Song" Any other songs that fit into this category? |

I would say 'who's going to drive you home tonight' by Cars. I find it a depressing song but at the same time I would listen to it.

One Week by the Bare Naked Ladies.
Wierd lyrical verses rapped at lightning speed, then the chorus sung normally. 16 years on and I still don't know whether it's a genius stroke of odd-pop or plain rubbish. http://youtu.be/fC_q9KPczAg (I still think the lead singer looks like a cross between Austin Powers and Archie from Balamory.) |

Starships by Nikki Minaj.
She cant rap, or sing. Its sort of talked through with a bit of rhythm. The lyrics are appaling, but its a fantastic song |

"Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" by Quiet Riot.
Superb riff, natty bass playing and a HUGE sing-a-long chorus. It's also cheesier than a gorgonzola and a dolcelatte in a "who's the cheesiest" competition. You'll be punching the air, once you've removed your head from your hands and checked that nobody's looking. |

20 Fingers ft Gillette - Short D*ck Man
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMvpP9Rq3t4 Limited lyrically and misandrist, but kind of funny. This reached as high as #11 in the UK in 1994/1995. Surprised how it's not that well known here. It's one of those crude songs I thought most people remember. |

Another one:
Billie Piper - Girlfriend Corny, but pop of the late 90s was so much fun. I wish she continued her music career. |

The Pina Colada song. Its drivel but the lyrics are great and I love humming along to it. |

Kidz - Take That. It's not an awful song but I'm just not into Take That, but I can't help but like this song/slightly embarrassed.

I love that song but would never admit to it.
