Looks like it although the cases may be made of something different.
There is a range above the "Sport" and "normal" called "edition". These have 18ct cases and are priced between £8k and £13.5k. Yes, the Sport is aluminium, the 'normal' steel and the Edition Gold. |

I think the Sport ones are priced okay. What's the difference between those and the normal ones? Just the strap?
I'm not watching the press conference but all the watches and prices are already up in the Apple Store app. |

The glass on the display is also different between the watch models. Glass on the sport. Sapphire crystal on the watch and edition

but the hardware is the same, so you could get a 'cheap' watch, then buy a nice strap separately.....
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MJ...-link-bracelet price really is for strap-only.... |

The metal link bands are £379. That's more than the Sport Watch itself. Crazy.
I can see a huge market for 3rd party straps unless Apple gets nasty with patents. |

As an apple fanboy myself can I possibly be the 1000000th person on this thread to say the prices are ridiculous. I didn't want one before and now I sure as heck don't want one now. Anyone who uses a watch for health with know that special runners and bike GPS watches are a lot cheaper and more functional and don't need charging up twice a day.
I'm off to get myself a garmin forerunner lol |

That's what I was thinking. I reckon grey market bands/bracelets from China will be all over Ebay soon enough. Patents or not!

New Mac Book Pro really looks amazing. Don't think I'll be able to fit it into my budget soon though.

if you're an Apple fanboy, why would you be surprised that an Apple product is not cheap?
![]() But the watch price is expensive by even normal apple pricing standards My guess is the watch will be worn as a fashion statement more than anything. |

Yeah I considered the watch but would have to go with the link bands to make it look okay professional. Apple just had £539 out of me for my iPhone will wait to get an Apple Watch lol nice to see that Apple TV has been knocked down in price though.
Bit surprising the WiFi on Apple watch is only 2.4GHz. |

![]() Its entry level pricing as well, expensive for a laptop, but cheap for a Mac, and it should be reliable. I'll wait to see magazine reviews that bench test the Core M CPU against the Core i5 and i7 on the machines with fans. |

There is literally nothing that sells the Apple Watch to me. Nothing at all. It's a gimmick and I think Apple are betting big time on app developers coming up with some really innovative apps that will make the watch relevant.
As it stands, it's just another way to get notifications, and considering you need an iPhone to pair it to, that's just silly. They keep going on about the watch being great for sport, but it doesn't have GPS, so you'd have to carry your phone if you want to track your distance on a run. Poorly thought through. Also, if I were ever going to spend a lot of money on a top quality watch, I'd be buying a hand made analogue watch, not a digital one that will be obsolete in 2 years time. |

It certainly looks good, but its not a Pro - its got a pretty slow CPU by comparison with the Air and Pro models, and it has a 480p (!!) camera
