Well naturally she's a west End and Broadway star in normal circumstances you would have to pay a fortune to see her sing, so you should be grateful not moaning about it.

As for the lady that plays Linda's mum I also thought the singing was ok,and she's quite brash in Joseph as the narrator so apart from the kiss with Mick ( ) I like her character ,I can imagine her to be similar in real life obviously toned down a bit!

Also can anyone tell me what happened before the duff duffs as the kids were talking???”

Thank you for saying I'm not old.

The police came in, just before the duff duffs, to talk to Shirley about Dean. They asked if they could go somewhere more private, but obviously the pub was totally silent by this point.

Give me Heather any day of the week.

The whole thing was yucky - both the singing and the kissing/ touchy-feely stuff.

Agreed, I thought she was fab.

I honestly expected to cringe, but as the scene went on it didn't become as cringey as I thought it was. it actually became rather sweet. I think that's the style of 'love and warmth' LN was aiming for: it was a sweet moment for Mick and Linda, but as well as that it was sweet for a few different couples; managed to have a lot of community in it, and also actually advanced a few other stories (Sharon/Her brother; the Ben/Jay stuff).

I ended up really liking it.

There have been so many "sweet" Mick and Linda moments that they now make me nauseous. And getting your mother in law to serenade your wife on your behalf is just plain wrong imo.

No, the singing was OK. I cringe when she talks.

Mick and Linda have been done to death now... It's time to give them a big fat long break, because I'm sure so many viewers are so bored of them.

OTT and 'in your face'...I thought Pam was bad, but Elaine takes it to a whole new level.

I don't think I could cope with Elaine full-time unless they toned her down a bit.

Could you imagine scenes between Elaine and Sharon, both in full Diva mode.

Except I wouldn't. I wouldn't pay to see her or even hear her sing. Not my cup of tea at all.

It was cringe but then the Carter family are very cringe. It's part of their charm in an odd way.

They are both awful and utterly pointless.

DTC is a fantastic EP, but it's stuff like this that let's him down, along with the Carter's on the whole really!.

I disgree about the Carters as a whole. I love Stan, Shirley, Babe, Sylvie and Buster. Technically the last three aren't Carters per se but they are all very interesting characters. I often forget Tina but I don't mind her either.

I quite like Elaine in small doses and have no problem with Carter karaoke - that's Linda's "thing". A lot of pubs still have that sort of thing every week for entertainment so why not the Vic? But I did find the full number from Elaine a bit out of place. Of course Maria Friedman is a huge West End star but I don't think it was really necessary to give her a full song!

I'm quite surprised we haven't seen Shane Richie up there gurning his way through some painful holiday camp style performance - gives me hope that DTC doesn't see a long-term future for the oldest cheeky chappy in town and will maybe sideline him until the end of his contract.

It wasnt just the singing either it was mick telling lee to dim the lights and then the dancing it was just way too sentimental lovey dovey guff. Don't mind the Carters and look forward to seeing what the police say about Dean but the lovey dovey stuff needs toning down!
