Not to be confused with previous versions of the Moto G.

Does anybody know when this Motorola Moto G LTE (2nd Gen.) is going on sale in the UK?

Many thanks.

I don't think anyone knows at the moment, it's all going to be guesswork but as it's launched in Brazil it would seem likely it won't be too long before it hits the UK. They may want to clear as much of their 2014 MotoG stock before selling the new version.

Hopefully it'll be dual SIM too

It's £119 + £15 top up or £129 + £10 top up in your link (£114 as a PAYG upgrade).

Tesco are selling them for £99 though.

Wow, that is a crazy long time. I would have expected them to either have launched or be close to launching a newer model by then.

Well the Moto E was just updated and that was announced the same time as the G 4G in May 2014, so it shouldn't be long IMO.

The fact they are selling it in Brazil is a good sign I think, I imagine it'll be along in a month or two once they've cleared their stocks of 4G LTE and 2014 3G models

Only in horrible White as far as i can see.
http://www.tesco.com/direct/tesco-mo...skuId=631-6473

If you want black its going to cost more.

Just a general note when buying anything from Tesco.
I got my 1st gen 4g from tescos.
Bought in the shop for £119
But web site says http://www.tesco.com/direct/motorola...skuId=404-7860
If you walk into a Tesco store, and was to order it from the online/click collect counter they would charge you the £140, they wont tell you if you walk 10feet to the instore phone counter you can have it for £119
Bit of a scam from Tesco

Also i bought sim free, didnt have to do any top, just paid £119.

Sorry OP youre threads gone slightly off topic, but just a warning to you and others if you buy from tesco, ALWAYS ask in store before you buy pay/online prices, just ring the store up.

You can get it at £89 on Vodafone Pay As You Go upgrade. You may know someone who could help with that?

At any rate more straight forward is Moto G for £59.99 spotted in Asda:

I'm sure the 4G Moto G 2nd Edition will be announced soon. Motorola/Lenovo has 10 announcements to make at MWC I believe, the Moto E 4G was probably one. The MotoMaker Moto 360 might be another.

A little birdie also tells me there's a mid-range Motorola along the lines of the Moto E/G (value for money) coming soon. That could be VERY interesting.

I don't know which day the press conference is, but if it's not tomorrow then it will probably be Monday.

Will one of them be that they're installing malicious software on all the stock Moto phones they are selling I wonder?

Yep, they already do that, it's called Android.

I've had the Moto G 4G (2014) a couple of months now, its a great smartphone, fast, easy to use, excellent screen etc, what changes/improvements are likely for the (2015) version? Bigger screen?? For me, the current Moto G 4G is hard to beat for the money.

It's just the Moto G 2nd Gen with LTE instead of 3G. And single SIM I believe.

Thanks.
Reckon I'll be happy with the one I currently have then.
Not even sure I'm bothered about the Lollipop update either, this phone is smooth and fast enough on 4.4 kitkat

I didn't think the LTE versions were dual SIM, or more that there isn't yet a dual SIM version (after all, there's a single SIM 3G version of the Moto G 2nd Gen too).

If it is dual SIM then that's great, but now I'm quite intrigued by news of this model to sit just above the Moto G, or may be called the Moto G 3rd Edition.

The Brazilian 4G LTE model lists 'dual chip':
"Now you can enjoy all the benefits of having more than one operator in your mobile. The new Moto G with 4G is Dual-Chip, he identifies the carrier of your contact to make calls, so you save even more.
He also learns your calling patterns to determine which chip to use in the call to be made."

Moto Brazil site

But of course the very original Moto G was available as dual SIM outside of Europe so doesn't mean we'll get that feature other than it is on the 3G MotoG 2014 model sold here.

Now in stock on the Motorola website £159, just £10 more than the 3g model and also has a larger battery

Not dual SIM though here is it? Couldn't see anything on the press release either way and not near a computer to check properly.

It obviously has the better screen and camera flash, but the new Moto E is more powerful.

Still a bargain though. But I'm told by insiders that there's something far more exciting coming and so this is a bit of a stopgap.

Don't tell me, the new one will have a 'Plus' moniker. The Motorola Moto G 4G Plus.
