I was a fan of Lucky Charms as a kid, they were my favourite cereal, and like everyone else I was gutted when they stopped selling them over here. It wasn't until many years later that I was able to get some imported from the US, but tbh they didn't taste quite like the ones they sold over here as a child. I wasn't taken back to my childhood like I thought I was going to be.

Anyway, yesterday I was walking around B & M's and spotted a box of Marshmallow Mateys that had been imported from the US.

I never knew that another company made a Lucky Charms style serial so I grabbed the last 320g box for only £1.99.

I've just demolished a bowl and I WAS taken back to my childhood.

They taste just like old school 80's British Lucky Charms.

The problem I have with American Lucky Charms is that the toasted oat pieces aren't as sweet and as tasty as our 80's version. However, Marshmallow Mateys toasted oat pieces are bloody bang on.

I'm done with Lucky Charms now.

Sorry Lucky, you can do one, mate.

Btw, you can get them from Tesco's for £2.50 as well.

Give them a try and tell me they're not better than current day Lucky Charms.

*trots off to get another bowl.*

I bought a small pot of Lucky Charms as they were selling them in the pound shop. Damn, they were sweet. Could almost feel my teeth disintegrating. Who would feed their children stuff like that for breakfast?

£2.50 really? In my local Tesco theyre nearer £5 or something (I think?) They also charge £2 (!) for 1 pack of White Reese Cups which only includes 2 pieces but the normal ones are 70p!
I have the advert for Lucky Charms in my head now "Theyre magically delicious"

That company is Malt-O-Meal. They make low-budget clones of pretty much every cereal.

They come in giant bags.. and are a staple of broke american student breakfast.

Seriously *giant* bags.. (the supersize is just over 1kg)
