Well the London region really should have BBC Radio Kent and Sussex - I know that Surrey is between Sussex and London, unlike Kent which adjoins it, but as I have said before, a large part of North Sussex gets its signals from Crystal Palace or Reigate and cannot receive reliably from a transmitter that carries Radio Sussex.
If a sixth slot became available in the future I think it would go to Radio Kent, then BBC Sussex would probably be next in line after that. BBC Surrey and BBC Sussex are mostly the same anyway. |

I could imagine that in an ideal world Cumbria (Caldbeck) etc would carry BBC Radio Lancashire as an alternate station, and the North East transmitters BBC Radio Leeds. Wondering if that conundrum has anything to do with it?
As the Kendal group was re-engineered some time ago, it could potentially replace distant services such as Merseyside and Stoke with nearby services such as Tees, York or Leeds but all of these fall outside the basic coverage area of the tv transmitters. In general, Cumbria is considered to be in the north west, so bearing that in mind, BBC Radio Lancashire would be an obvious choice. Cumbria also borders the Yorkshire Dales, so Radio York and Radio Leeds would possibly be preferred to Radio Lancashire in these areas, so Radio Lancashire becomes a less obvious choice. That said, none of these radio stations actually have overlapping editorial coverage with the tv transmitters. With people complaining about not being able to receive their favoured choice in other regions (where overlaps do exist eg Sussex and Kent with Crystal Palace), I'm guessing that the BBC has stepped back from adding "out of area" stations. So, for the moment at least, the Channel Islands get 2 services rather than 5, the BBC doesn't take advantage of Kendal's unique transport stream to customise stations in South Lakeside and Radio Leeds doesn't launch in the BBC North East & Cumbria region. |

Looks like North West is the last then!
Has Jersey and Guernsey been added to Fremont Point yet? |

Has Jersey and Guernsey been added to Fremont Point yet? The changes happened just in time to see the Bilsdale line-up before atmospheric conditions caused the signal to break up. |

Expected changes took place on the Winter Hill muxes at approx 12:45pm -
BBC Cumbria, BBC Lancashire, BBC Merseyside all added as expected. BBC Humberside, BBC Sheffield, and BBC York entries appeared in the SDT from adjoining regions. Also, a couple of G_MAN services changed LCN - detailed elsewhere. |

*The Red Button MHEG stream PID 7201 continues at the original bitrate, as does linked data stream PID 7204. Red Button linked data streams PID 7202 (150 kbps), PID 7203 (6 kbps) and PID 7205 (81 kbps) have been dropped. Further improvements were made by merging individual Radio MHEG slate streams PIDs 1010/1110/1210/1310/1410/1510/1610/1710/1810/1910/2010 into a single stream PID 7210. The Off-air MHEG slates PIDs 311/411/711/811 used by part time channels were merged into a single stream PID 7211 and channel specific data streams PIDs 119/219 merged into stream PID 7219.

I've extracted the MHEG/data streams from BBC A and there seems to be an error in the script file used to read the names into the MHEG slate. [ The error is in file sid.cf ]
R Shropshire & Stoke are correctly defined: @NmBLRShropshire|BBC Radio Shropshire| @NmBLRStoke|BBC Radio Stoke| H&W & C&W are not: @BLRC&WSN|BBC Coventry & Warwickshire| @BLRH&WSN|BBC Hereford & Worcester| As you can see, H&W & C&W don't use the correct @NmBLR... format. Basically, report the absence of names in the Local Radio MHEG slate for these stations to the BBC. Hopefully, they will then fix it. Quote:
They still haven't fixed the MHEG names though!
@NmBLRCW|BBC Coventry & Warwickshire| @NmBLRHW|BBC Hereford & Worcester| |
