Three and Virgin media
Hi,
Does anyone know if Three is using Virgin Media as an internet gateway in Cambridge? Let me explain: I've always had excellent speeds on Three at home (+10mbps) and Virgin has always been quite decent (+50mbps). However a fault developed last week on Virgin's media network in Cambridge. My speeds are now down to 0.5mbps and Virgin is taking their sweet time to fix this. Funny thing is, Three is also slow to a crawl right now, with speeds in the low 1mbps range. Everytime this has happened on me before, I've used tethering to bypass my home broadband, and this was more than enough for browsing and youtubing. But now both networks are totally unusable. Coincidence? |

Thee do use Virgin Media Business services for backhaul in some areas, it is also possible that if there's a problem with Virgin Media a lot more people are using mobile data in your area causing a lot of extra congestion.

I'm sure they'll fix it soon. |
