What is the point of Beale's Plaice. It's only been a major feature since 1995 and it's just a chippy! It doesn't really have the same status as the Vic, the cafe, the launderette, the Arches or the car lot. I think a new shop selling kebab, burgers and fried chicken would be closer to the zeitgeist.

Umm... Mcluncky's?? (w.e its called) what is it with people wanting to get rid of everything British from this country. There is nothing wrong with a fish and chip shop.

McKlunkeys does chicken not kebab. I'm talking about a kebab shop in place of the chippy but also chicken and burgers etc. McKlunkeys can become a deli owned by Peter and Lauren Beale when they return with Ian as a silent investor.
Also, The Albert should be renamed to 'The Dagmar' or 'Angie's Den'.

Fish and chips is actually Jewish not British.

Your very wrong

The jewish brought fried fish to the country

However the british made the dish themselves

But the first Fish and Chip shop was in 1860

Sorry my bad. But still if it's where the chippy is, it would be more visible. McKlunkey's can move there and can be run by Kush Kazemi. Or it could be Kush Kebabs. I dunno...

Nope it was the Jewish community. They brought fried fish to Britain (the whole basis of fish and chips) and the first chippy was opened by a Jew called Joseph Malin in 1860. It's a Jewish thing not exclusively British. Chicken tikka is a British though.

There's Hungry Hanks opposite the tube station next which will more than liklet do kebabs, and you have the Polish Deli between The Funeral Directors and McKlunkeys

The chippy is part of the Beale empire, you cannot get rid of it. I wouldn't object to Ian purchasing McKlunkys mind you rather than it belonging to some random unseen character.

I don't see what's wrong with the fish and chip shop where it is. Why does a kebab shop need to be "more visible" in place of the chippy in your opinion? I'd like to see a Chinese restaurant and take away with a new Chinese couple running it. Or a Thai restaurant. Why would you put Kush in a kebab shop? I don't recall him being a cook or interested in running a food outlet.

Donna in a kebab shop One she wouldn't be able to reach above the counter etc and she can be really unpleasant and would drive all the customers away. I know "Donna's Kebabs" was meant as a joke, I'm just saying

Agree on this - East End restauranteurs are missing a trick with Walford as since the Argee Bhagee closed there isn't any choice for takeaway fans!

I thought Nico papadolpilous ran McKlinkoes? What happened to him?

Mind you I couldn't stand nico anyway as he was greedy for money and treated Lola and his staff like shit.

This did make me chuckle tbh. I feel sorry for Lisa and people like not being able to take on standing jobs in a counter. Life must be hard not being able to take advantages like height for granted.

A Fish and Chip shop is something I would expect to find in London, get rid of the awful McKlunky's, dreadful name, and isn't even featured anymore.

I don't see why there's suddenly all of these threads suggesting parts of Walford should change. First the launderette & now the chippy.

Err no, fish and chips is cuisine whereas the Eiffel Tower is architecture. Fish and chips is Jewish cuisine and therefore you're rather jingoistic (well worse than that) that you made doesn't stack up.
