Isle of Man - best options for roaming
hi all,
gonna be in the isle of man for an extended period of time. just wondering if anyone has any advice over the best way to manage my mobile phone whilst out there, am currently with three (out of contract), their feel at home offering does not include isle of man sadly and would have to roam onto the Manx networks, which could prove expensive. apart from picking up a local PAYG SIM, anyone got any better ideas? other UK networks or something ingenious? |

Like you said, your best bet is to pick up a Manx Telecom sim card. As the Isle of Man isn't actually in the EU they aren't subject to the standard EU roaming rates either which could prove expensive unless anyone else knows of any roaming offers/package?
Take a look at the pay as you go offer here, it's good value for money: http://www.manxtelecom.com/mobile/tariff-plans/pay-as-you-go.aspx |

Looking at the Manx PAYG pricing I would think that must be the best solution for a visit of more than 2 weeks, £10 for 15 days of 2GB 4G data + £10 credit for calls/texts or £20 for 30 days of unlimited 4G + £20 credit seems easily cheaper than any roaming option.

Looking at the 3 website they, at least, count the Isle of Man as "honorary EU" - as far as their roaming rates are concerned.
