If they message you and ask you to stop, you could stop.
If they want to ban you, they lose the money and you go to another streaming service. So just do it any way you want, you are paying the full amount for the service, and you are not cheating or gaining anything, apart from a slightly different selection of videos. |

I'm doing the same thing. If I was getting it free then I would understand but I pay they're monthly fee so I don't feel like its cheating.

It all depends on how you look at it really.
Yes your paying your monthly fee, but that money goes towards licensing agreements for the region your accounts setup with. Then on the other hand your monthly fee allows you to keep on accessing your Netflix account while travelling but you may see different regional content. (Using a smartphone/tablet there's an on screen message telling you this when you open the app in a different region) My Netflix account allows 4 screens at a time so in theory they can be used in 4 different regions at the same time. At the end of the day Netflix know is goes on and they kind of allow it with their 'traveling' policy and I suppose it's down to someone to prove you or another family member who shares your account is not traveling. |

I'm don't have Netflix but I'd be tempted if I could access the US library. They should just let me sign up using a US address, pay in dollars, and view the US region without having to pay extra for a VPN.

They know exactly what you are doing. They obviously turn a blind eye. I looked at my account the other day and under viewing activity it listed everything I had watched, the device I had watched it on and the region I had viewed. So for instance it said Homeland viewed on Apple tv on Uk at 8.30pm.
Then Friends viewed on USA at 10pm. Obviously there is no way I could fly from the Uk to the USA in 30 minutes so its fairly obvious what I am doing. So they do know. |

a bit more than slightly the us library is fantastic compared to what they fob us off with
The good news is that the old studio+distributor system is very antiquated and with the rise of technology offering quality streaming they will have to change how they offer their products or they will go bankrupt. |

You do realize that the Americans say the same thing about their service, compared to ours and the Canadians moan about theirs compared to the US etc etc.

You can already do this, but you still need a VPN/Smart DNS to bypass the geo-lock that tells Netflix which country your located in which is set by your ISP.
I know it is simpler than that on smart TV so I just tried it to see what the fuss is about. Pressed menu button on my TV, went to network settings, then IP settings, changed DNS settings from automatic to "enter manually", typed the DNS IP for American netflix that I googled, exited menu and started Netflix app on my TV and it worked first time and loaded US Netflix. The different content does no excite me at all, I will watch some family guy, we don't get that on UK. There is 3D selection on the US one, so I will get my glasses on and watch a couple' |

And where do you think those DNS numbers come from? Pretty much most belong to some sort of SmartDNS service that after a certain amount of time become inactive as the trial period for that service comes to an end.

Its just a couple of button presses on my TV remote to change it back to automatic DNS, I am happy with the UK version, can't really see anything worth changing for so I will just put it back and leave it. I think it is a case of people seeing the grass is greener on the other side with Netflix regions, no significant differences worth shouting about. |

^^ True, but I may change my region up to 5 times or so, looking for something I fancy watching, so it's not a case of changing once and leaving it. For instance last night I started watching the killing season 3 on one region, had a mooch about on a couple of other regions, then watched Sirens on US.
And their are quite significant differences in the regions. By having access to them all you get to see most I'd say around 90% or so of films that aren't even on sky (by up to 4 months or so) yet and some that aren't even in the cinema's in this country yet. |

You won't enjoy your viewing with all that chopping and changing and searching, it might be the case that you are giving yourself too much choice. Maybe best do do internet search on possible things to watch, then just watch and let go of the buttons for a while and sit back and relax. |

I use the hola chrome plug in to pick the country I want. very easy and 2 seconds to change to a new country.
Its not netflix losing out, technicially if anyone is losing out - its the rights holders of the shows/movies. |

I use www.unblock-us.com myself, just go to the site and follow setup instructions. |
