Anyone here fans of schlager music?
Thinking German and Dutch/Flemish? Love listening to it in atmospheric bars over there, and thanks to the web can find tons here.
Probably this thread won't get a single reply - but DS amazes me sometimes! - but if anyone does, it would be nice to know I'm not alone! If so, do you have a fave on-line station, if I had to pick one it would probably be Oranje (NL) and it's a shame Sterren TV (Trois) is now sub-only. |

Not to take anything away from the music itself (my late mum was German and had a few albums in that style which I fondly recall from when I was very young), but I love the fact that its tameness annoyed the youth of Germany so much in the late Sixties that bands like Kraftwerk, Can and Tangerine Dream were formed as a reaction to it. So in a way it helped kickstart modern electronic music!

it's half-way between folk and electronica with an echoey twist. On those stations occasionally more mainstream (for us) oldies appear though. Everyone likes a pretty girl - I think this medley sums it up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THjccrsFIPU |
