That's right you can only list one!

After much debate in my head I went for Like A Prayer but I opted for the slightly remixed dance version of it that we got on The Immaculate Collection

Blimey! ONE favourite? Well, I was flummoxed I can tell you. Because at first it was going to be Like a Prayer. As pop songs go that had to be the winner right? But then guilt set in. Because I absolutely love Nobody's Perfect. So of course, I then thought that had to be my favourite. Then I swayed towards Like a Prayer again. But then, I remembered! I still can't stop listening to one particular song. It is such a feel good song. I hear it every time I play Madonna songs. I'll give you a clue: It has a great bouncy beat. It has Madonna showing off her vocals like she's utterly unstoppable. It has great instrumentation, it is so hard not to dance to. You're thinking of I'm a Sinner aren't you? Well, that is a close second. But nope, my favourite, ONE Madonna song is:

Spoiler

Just love it. Cheers me up everytime I need cheering up!

Probably one of the few to go for later work but 4 Minutes. Not a huge fan of her older work to be honest.

That could easily translate to "Hanky Panky" from "I'm Breathless".

(That is actually real!)

I have to go with Into The Groove.

It was between that and Like A Prayer, although choosing a favourite Madonna is hard. She has a pick n mix of amazing songs!

Into the Groove is OK too. Everything else I don't really like or dislike.

So many great songs to choose from which immediately spring to mind; Vogue, Express Yourself, Into The Groove, Holiday, Open Your Heart, Material Girl... Those are the ones which come to my mind first. However, my all time favourite, the one which I can listen to again and again has to be... Hung Up.

Notable mentions to I'm a Sinner and Girl Gone Wild too. I know most people didn't really hold MDNA too high but I absolutely adore it.

I mentioned I'm a Sinner upthread. It is a fantastic track. Superstar to Falling Free is a superb run of quality songs. I'm a Sinner is fantastic - would not sound out of place on Ray of Light.

The problem with MDNA is not the songs, with the exception of Give Me All Your Loving, the album is great. It's the actual album title. MDNA looks and sounds so out of place amongst the other albums she's done. "Masterpiece" would have been a much better name for it, or even "Superstar".

Still Like A Prayer and I suspect it always will be.

Special mention to Into The Groove, True Blue, Express Yourself, Vogue and Ray Of Light.

Ahhhhh. Die Another Day. It's the strings that does it for me. Can't believe they never released a fully orchestral version of this.

Brilliant production and hasn't aged a day - can't believe it's 13 years old!

Superstar is another fantastic track from this album. The name MDNA always made me feel as though the album was like a reboot. In some ways it was, what with the album being the first she did outside of the WB label. Speaking of which, I always felt that the most out of place album title she did was Hard Candy. It's not just the title though; the whole album reeked of an artist who knew they were aging but didn't want to accept it; most of it felt like an attempt at trying to fit in with the youth of the day but it failed terribly. That said I do enjoy listening to Hard Candy. It's not her best work but it's still decent. To be fair to it, HC came off the back of Confessions; a stunning album which garnered much acclaim. I think a lot of people expected Confession II but were disappointed when HC didn't deliver.

MDNA meanwhile suffered from a huge lack of promotion; it was literally nowhere. I feel they've done a much better job with RH, everyone seems to be talking about it.
