I have a Moto E android phone on the Sainsburys Mobile Network. I really think well of the phone and the Network BUT I have a problem sending picture MMS messages. I cannot send/receive photos or images via text.
I have been in touch with Sainsburys and after exhausting conversations suddenly on my last call, a young man went through the settings again with me and cracked it. Or so I thought. I tried later that day and back to zero. My last attempt was via Motorola and they said try another Sim card to see if that helped but if Sainsburys got it to work one time it can't be the card. Can it?
Anyone else have this infuriating problem?

Have you tried here:

http://www.phoneshopbysainsburys.co.uk/faqs/view/id/58

Try the text first to see if that works.

If not:

The APN settings for Android are:

Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

APN Name payg.mobilebysainsburys.co.uk

MMSC http://mms.mobilebysainsburys.co.uk/servlets/mms

MMS Proxy 212.183.137.12

MMS Port 8799

Leave all the other fields (those not mentioned above) blank

Thanks for that info. BUT I have already have that inputted onto my phone and had numerous texts from Sainsbury technical.
Can the reception affect the messaging as it is poor here in Chesterfield. I understand it is Vodaphone network that Sainsbury use. Saying that I tried unsuccessfully from another area.
I can live without it but it is annoying. OH, I can send and receive ordinary text messages.

So, above the arrow head, bottom right, does it say MMS?

Zebb it say MMS when I attach a photo. But it just keeps saying SENDING.
When I attach a smiley (it doesn't show MMS then) the message goes through but no smiley. This I keep trying by sending it to another phone I have that works fine.

Vodafone, yes.

Have you deleted all the other APNs from the phone, so that the Sainsbury's one is the only one in the list?

De525ma and Zebb Yes have only Sainsburys as APN and have tried with Network and data roaming on. No luck.
Will have to try a different sim card albeit it is only a small one in it and not everybody have got that size. Frustrating.
Otherwise the phone is ace and really pleased with the bundle I have with Sainsbury.

Out of curiosity are you using the stock SMS app? Maybe try downloading the Messenger app from google play and setting that to your default SMS app. I know my parents had issues with the stock SMS app on their Moto G phones with emoticons and the like, I wonder if it is a similar thing.

Welshbluebird, thanks for that. I have downloaded GO PRO sms app. and it has sent a picture but not the emoticon (smilies) symbol I tried. So slowly getting there. I tried Handcent and Evolve but no luck with them.
It would be nice to know what is causing the problem. Maybe others out there may be having the same problem???
