Recasting Brad Willis (they should not of introduce him without Scott Michaelson)

I'd say Neighbours' image problem was that it was perceived by a lot of people as a squeaky clean, watered down show, which is not the type of image you want. I don't think Neighbours has much of an image anymore. It's just completely obscure.”

From 2004-6 Neighbours transformed into a more mature show where sex was mentioned and the show had a high octane pace. Susan Bowers reversed all that and returned it to 90's dagginess.

And they were always divisive quotes.

I remember when she was fending off complaints about the show not honouring its history after the Ramsay retcon, and she said it's only the UK fans who care about that sort of thing, whereas the Aussies don't. So, why were the Aussie fans complaining, then?”

When Bower was addressing an Australian outlet, in reference to possible inclusion of PG rated content on channel 11, she implied she couldn't move the show too far from its current tone because of the UK audience:

Quote:
“"We can’t lose what we’ve got and that is that families like to watch Neighbours together. The Brits (Neighbours screens on Channel 5 in the UK) love us just the way we are. We need to be responsible." http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/s...ew_storylines/”

So basically when talking to an Australian media outlet she had to keep the show as it was because of the UK audience. But addressing a UK based forum she dismissed them and said "Well I make the program for Australia." Always someone else's fault never hers.
