Text from Three "you've nearly reached your credit limit"? On 12 month one plan??
So my misses who's on a 12 month sim only one plan got the above in a text earlier, so being confused I rang them to ask what it's about, and after a 10minute chat I'm still none the wiser really lol.
He said something about there's a £50 credit limit on the account when you sign up to the contract, this is for chargeable calls etc he said. But then I said that whenever we do calls or texts which is NOT included in the allowance we always get charged on the next bill? So we went onto her my three app to check bills/recent spend etc and according to that it says £30 something!? But thing is when we check her previous bills she's only ever £3/4 over on her contract amount. For example her last bill was a week ago which was the correct amount, so in a week she's spent £30 on chargeable calls!? She said she did make a few to insurance companies etc but only a few mins so it wouldn't be £30. Nothing makes sense? Did anyone on here on a Three contract know you had a £50 credit limit? I didn't and I've been with Three for 5 years lol |

credit limit is different for everyone.
It's there to stop you running up a bill you can't pay. Find out what the charges are for, if they're correct then pay the bill. If they're incorrect then dispute them. |

My credit limit when I first signed up with them once was equal to my monthly tariff which meant I couldn't do anything out of allowance without triggering that message. Their social media team on twitter amended it to something more sensible

Were some of the insurance company numbers called 0845 or 0870?
They probably aren't included in the One Plan- in fact I think most mobile companies stopped including them years ago.....

So basically because she's somehow spent £30 outside her allowance, it's over half of her £50 limit, hence the message, got it now! Lol Thanks |

Ahh why didn't they just say that on the phone, I'd have got it straight away.

Lol Thanks Most land line ISPs do this now for calls outside your plan I think. Stops you running up a 50 grand bill and then going on Watchdog and unleashing Ann Robinson on them. Hahahahahaha |

No. Non geographic UK numbers such as 0800, 0845, 0844 etc and premium rate numbers or texts are not included in the allowance. That said there are apps (weq4u) or free services (0800 Buster) that cover most of the non geo numbers within allowance so I'd set an account cap and use those rather than risking unintentional spend. |

I was on the One Plan for 12 months.
Last week, I received my final bill from Three by post. It says nothing to pay - you are in credit then says £14.29 credit. It says to call us to arrange a refund. Can the credit just be transferred to another Three account? |
