I have a new Sony Bravia KDL42W8 sitting on a Origin ii S4 cantilever stand. I can get soundbar fixings/brackets for the stand but it looks from what I have read that Sony Soundars either free stand or have keyhole fixings for wall mounts.

Can Sony Soundbars be connected to what I call standard soundbar brackets.

Not as far as I know - unless you use the keyhole fixings.

What you could do is make a long metal plate that fastens on the bracket, and then have the keyhole fixings on to that.
