Unnecessary plot. Sharon had closure with her birth mother years ago so there's no need to revisit this now. Den and Angie are her parents. No one else.

The best outcome would be for her biological father to be a complete stranger, far away from the square and connected to no one else on the show but I can't see that happening. The quote about him being close to home sounds ominous though. She must have already seen his name so I guess that means it isn't anyone currently on the show.

If it turns out that he's Kathy's husband, that will be absolutely ridiculous.

He's far too old. Sharon's father would be younger than Kathy around 60. I don't want it to be somebody on the square that's too much of a coincidence. Or married to a former resident either.
And his surname was never once mentioned on the show. So not sure who made that one up but its made up.

It sounds like it will turn out to be Kathys husband because apparently in one of the soap mags it Said Gavin is the key to Kathys return.

DTC said it would be earth shattering. Gavin being Sharon's biological dad is genius IMO and will have big ramifications for the Beales and Mitchells as if Kathy coming back from the dead wasn't big enough.

It's crucial that they get Gavin's casting right. This is the big story Sharon has been crying for. Bring it on.

Sharon being Ben's stepmum and half-sister at the same time...that wouldn't be so shocking given the different intersections of relatives in the show, but it will no doubt be a shock on a personal level when Kathy returns.

But making her half-siblings with Ian will be a very personal moment for both of them.

Plain daft, but then so is bringing Kathy back from the dead. Still Kathy would end up as a pretty powerful woman if it does happen...Ben's mum, Sharon's step-mum, Lexi's gran and mum/gran/mother-in-law/great-gran to the Beales. Good grief

If Gavin is her father, it would only make them step sibling, not half as there be no biological link.

As daft as all the Carters reconciling and moving to the Square to live under the same roof? Soaps are full of contrivances and coincidences but we have seen that with good writing it can work.

Daft would be Les Coker, Pete Beale, Jim Branning, Stan Carter, Arthur Fowler, Bill Cross, Eric Mitchell, Charlie Slater IMO.

If Sharon's bio father has to be someone we already know, it should either be Den or NIck. I won't be happy any other way

It isn't Den as next week Linda comes to that conclusion after talking to Sharon but she is told by the person who organised the adoption that Den isn't her Dad, of course she could be lying but seems unlikely. I could see Nick being the Dad as it would make Dot Sharon's Grandma but when Dot asked Nick if there were anymore Grandchildren after Charlie that would come to the surface he seemed adamant that there wasn't but with Nick anything was possible but i doubt it is Nick either. I still think it will be Kathy's husband personally.
