Meat and Steinman back together. They really do need each other, but is there another decent album in them? Meat has sounded pretty ropey in recent years.

I find Meat Loaf and Alanis Morissette are both to an extent rehashing their big smash album with every subsequent release. I have liked a lot of both artists' material, but because the mood and imagery remains the same over the decades it just makes it too easy to feel disappointed as the albums don't live up to past successes.

I bought Meat Loaf's last album and his voice is completely shot. I know that gets thrown around a lot but in the case of Meat Loaf, is is particularly true. He seems to have trouble hitting notes that a mediocre singer can hit, never mind the heights he could reach in his hey day.

Not the most truthful quote, it has to be said. "I'd Do Anything...." came from the second album and Desmond Child produced the third "Bat" album.

Pedantism side, I agree with the other poster who mentioned Meat's vocals are all gone to pot. I saw him perform a few years back and it seemed he struggled from start to finish. That being said, his entire career has been plagued with voice problems.

I would like to see one final "Bat" album to complete the story especially if Steinman is coming onboard for the project. IMO, "Bat 3" was a bit of a damp squib. I don't think I've listened to it more than twice. But if this, or any other Meat Loaf album sees the day of light, I don't think I'd ever go and see him on tour again.

I thought he'd packed up touring?? Hence when I saw him at the o2 it was the Last At Bat tour.

As far as I know, Meat Loaf has retired from touring. I do seem to remember reading that he had collapsed on stage a couple of times.

He was doing a residency in Las Vegas recently, that might be the only chance to see him live now.

Great news that we'll get some new Jim Steinman output, although I suspect a new voice would be preferable to Meat's ( as long as it's not Steinman himself ....bad for Good was a fantastic album, average voice )

Mr S even made Air Supply sound good - " making love out of nothing at all " is well worth checking out
