Lacey Turner and Jessie Wallace scenes were brilliant tonight, Jessie's performance wasn't too over the top, was just right and Lacey's performance within the scene was the icing to complete it.

I agree they were brilliant, but all the others were great too. Brilliant episode.

Agreed. I sometimes feel Lacey overdoes that 'quavering sympathetic' voice but she was totally spot on tonight.

And don't forget Lindsey Coulson who does the little things better than anybody else on Eastenders.

But the episode belonged to Jessie Wallace. From her frenzied happiness to her total broken, deflation - Kat is a woman who is all over the place right now and Jessie played it perfectly. She was excellent in the classic Kat Slater, bathrooms and mirrors moment and then quietly moving with little Tommy.

Three great actresses who Eastenders are lucky to have.

I thought Jessie Wallace has certainly had better episodes, but I'm very happy that the Kat storyline is moving into more positive territory.

I laughed when Mo told Stacey that she should be the one to tell Kat about Zoe. My first thought was that Lacey is a far better actress than Laila, so Kat would certainly prefer it from Stacey.

I've said elsewhere that Coulsen was excellent tonight, portraying lonely Carol having a bit of fun with Billy. A bit of on odd concept that actually seemed to work wonders.

Yeah I felt sorry for them both. Billy was feeling totally hopeless with everyone he knew having a happy life away from him. And Carol is lonely after David leaving again, and, I imagine, Bianca (though she probably likes the peace). She can't even get a movie night with her family.

If they continue this nice little romance, my only hope is they don't try and turn it into some sickly epic love story. I like how real it felt tonight.

I enjoyed tonight's episode. Felt like they're making progress with Kat who's been stuck in first gear (and stalling) for ages. Hope this doesn't rule out a Zoe return given Kat's "moving on" attitude. Zoe's explanation in the text feels like only a partial response to what's bothering her vis-a-vis Kat.

Carol is so underrated. If they put her in scenes with strong female characters like Shirley they'll be unmissable.

Shabnam and Kush's scenes were cute.

It was a nice way to focus on the lesser used characters.

Not sure what they're doing with Martin, but I felt a little sorry for him when everyone bailed.

Also...........Chinese lady who works at Beale's Plaice was on PLEASE give her a name and use her in the same way they do Tracey and Winston.

Lacey Turner has three facial expressions: laugh, angry shout, and gurn. That's all there is to her. I've tried to change my mind about this, but the evidence is damning.

It was very good. But I really want Stacey to get a storyline off her own rather than playing the confidant of Albert Square.

Both Stacey and Kat are the two characters I'm most interested in by far.

One more than Danny Dyer's frown and stare!

At long last Jessie finally has some material to work with other than having affairs and splitting up and getting back together with Alfie. It's about time. It was nice to see a lot of different sides to Kat in this episode and there was even a little scene of her just being a Mum to Tommy, which is a rare sight!

The Carol and Billy scenes were better than I expected but I still feel like they'd get dull, quick if they were paired up together.

Lacey/Stacey didn't really do anything special in this episode, other than add another secret to her growing collection.

She has the same facial expression for every occasion. That damn "someone just farted and I can smell it" face.

It proves just how good EE can be without the Carters taking centre stage all the time. DTC, please take note.

The Daily Mail stalked and took pictures of Lacey Turner the other week and yet she still had that scowl on her face . She is very pretty but just needs to smile more.

Yes, PLEASE take note!

EastEnders is better when the Carters aren't taking centre stage. I can't wait for Kathy's return, because it will hopefully but The Beale's and The Mitchell's centre stage, and how can you possible complain about that?.

Me too!

They are both fantastic at acting and deserve some hapiness.

This isn't strictly true. There have been plenty Carter episodes over the last year that have been fantastic. The problem is that they are overused and overdone, not because they aren't brilliant of providing brilliant drama or brilliant performances.
