Last week, Michelle Collins called for Cindy Beale to come back 'from the dead' and it is actually something that many fans want. Also, the way Cindy left the show was crazy but I watched the bit where Ian has to tell the Williams that Cindy is dead (although he didn't identify the body) because he was 'next of kin'. But he couldn't be 'next of kin' because they divorced. So what IF she's still alive?
Maybe Cindy did not give birth to Cindy in prison maybe she had been released (due to insufficient evidence) and gave birth in a hospital but was on the run from The Firm. Maybe the hitman who Cindy used to try and kill Ian was a member of The Firm and because she got that hitman in prison, the Firm were after her. Therefore, she escaped and left the baby with her mother and paid Les Coker (who is the main undertaker in Walford) to supply her family with a dead body. Then she got a fake passport and fake documents and moved to Miami putting her old life behind her. Cindy then got into contact with Lucy months before her death and Lucy planned to escape with Miami to be with her mother. Maybe Ian has known for 16 years that Cindy is alive and was in on the plot?

It's not what I think and they shouldn't do it now but it is a suggestion of how she could possibly come back.

We have to see how Kathy 'didn't die'. The only way for Cindy to come back is if it is established beforehand that she didn't die i.e. Ian reveals to Jane that Cindy didn't die but that doesn't mean she actually returns.
The only way it could happen is if Cindy wasn't in prison, if Ian was in on it all this time and if Cindy's life was in danger. It would work well as a secret of Ian's rather than as a big 'she's back from the dead' storyline.

If Lucy that could tie in with why Lucy started taking drugs again but wouldn't explain why she never told Peter, Cindy or even Stephen

Cindy faking her own death would be far more believable than Kathy. However I fully understand that Kathy has a lot more to offer to the show in terms of storylines, history and family connections than Cindy.

How could she fake her death in prison?

Maybe she wasn't in prison and maybe Ian was in on it!

Cindy was on remand, awaiting trial for hiring the hitman to kill Ian when she died.

She was arrested just after winning full custody of Steven, Peter and Lucy from Ian. Cindy and her boyfriend, Nick (Cindy Jr's dad) were planning to move to Italy with the children. Phil and Grant "persuaded" the hit-man to confess and with Cindy in jail, Ian got custody.

Nick made it very clear he wanted nothing to do with either Cindy or the baby once he realised she HAD tried to have Ian killed (the same thing that made David Wicks decide he didn't want Cindy anymore, by the way).

As far as I can recall, Ian and Cindy did not divorce after they remarried in 1992/3 so Ian would have automatically been contacted by the authorities on Cindy's death as her husband; he would also have been the legally assumed father of Cindy Jnr.

Cindy and Ian divorced in 1997 and they didn't remarry in 1992 (they separated but remained married). So the fact that Ian is her 'next of kin' is suspicious. We were told she was on remand but what if she already stood trial and didn't inform anyone (maybe it was just Ian who knew). And the hitman's associates - who could be The Firm - could have been after her which caused her to fake her death with Ian's support and Les Coker's assistance.

I hate when they kill characters off screen.

It's as if the EPs do it on purpose because they are butthurt about them refusing to return. Michelle Collins is a great actress and Cindy didn't need to die.

Its a soap following the lives of everyday people (supposedly), not a bloody fantasy story.

It's highly unlikely that they'll bring back Cindy now that Kathy has returned. If they do it will be farcical. They've brought back Den from the dead and now Kathy. Bringing back Cindy will be going too far. I very much doubt it will happen and don't particularly want her back.

They can't really bring back Cindy now because they have just "resurrected" Kathy. I don't think she can ever return and she wouldn't really work without Lucy and Peter.

I think you need to tell the producers. Lugging and dumping dead daughters and ressurections were the centre piece of 30th.

On EE the precedent was set by Den Watts, with nearly every unseen death leaving the door open. Kathy Hills being brought back will IMO be the last time the show does it in a very long time. It also rules out Cindy for the foreseeable future, as they're not going to resurrect another person linked to Ian so soon.

Threads about being cindy back are really annoying me. I get she was popular and people want her back but given how she does it's impossible which is a shame and the biggest mistake the producer made at the time but it can't be undone. Sadly cindy is stuck in the past but atleast she is safe from any bad producers. If she does return id probably would switch of as a soap shouldnt be science fiction where time can be rewritten and such.

Then bring back Peter. She could work with Cindy Jr. and Ian though. They couldn't resurrect her in the same way as they resurrected Kathy but they could lay the foundation for her to come back. The reality is that if there is a strong explanation for why she is 'dead', it is not an issue.

Peter would have to be recast if they wanted him back. There's no way would Ben Hardy come back to a soap after getting his foot in the door in Hollywood.

Ditto Sean Slater. Why would Robert Kazinsky return to EE when his acting career his on the up since Pacific Rim? Thing is I wouldn't buy a replacement Sean, as Rob made that role his own.

I guess killing off Lucy was a poor decision in the long term seeing as how the teenage/young adult Beale presence is really empty. Bobby is only 11 or 12 (I think), Cindy Jr isn't a Beale despite living with Ian and Peter and Lauren's child isn't even born yet.

No explanation would be plausable. It's utterly inpossible and cindy should appear in ee sketches like the ghost thing only.peter has only been gone 5 minutes ::

According to the BBC, Ian and Cindy never divorced. They may have started preceedings, but the divorce was never finalised. This means that Ian would be contacted if anything happened to Cindy.

Also, why would Ian help Cindy hide? She wanted to take the kids from him, had cheated on him and tried to have him murdered.

If - and it's a huge if - if Cindy isn't dead, Ian doesn't know. He'd have shopped her in a heartbeat
