Paula................seek immediate help.

Bo................liked the red shirt, hated the routine with the silly cowboy hat. Good performance but in danger of being too OTT.

Constantine............he needs a bigger stage to accommodate the size of his head. So smug that it detracted from the song.

Anwar.............not surprised he was in the bottom three. He was out of tune a lot of the time and gave a really bland performance. Nice-looking guy though.

Jessica............sang very well and didn`t deserve to be voted out. However, it would only have been a matter of time. She just wasn`t memorable enough.

Scott................absolutely dire. Out of tune and he should have been voted out yet he wasn`t even in the bottom three???

Vonzell........didn`t do the song in her own style. Very Whitney (even the hair FFS!). Good performance.......she should enter something like "Stars In Their Eyes" and do a Whitney take-off. What is her style? Haven`t seen anything original from her yet.

Carrie...........could have been singing the menu from McDonalds for all the emotional range she displayed. I don`t get why Simon is so besotted with her? Okay........c&w singers sell cds but she ain`t that special.

Nikko..............he should be on a broadway stage, not in a pop idol competition. Disliked him on sight and still do.

Anthony...........looked most peculiar without his glasses. Average voice. Don`t think he`ll last much longer.

Nadia.......don`t know what`s happening here. She seems to be getting worse as the competition goes on.

Am losing interest in this competition. If it weren`t for Bo I`d actually consider not watching it. Never felt this way about any AI.

It's interesting to compare this years field of contestants to last years , I do beleive that this year has some more consistent singers but I honestly feel that the top 5 singers last year were decided pretty early , Fantasia , Latoya , George , Jennifer and Diana , all of these had by this stage shown more personality than this years contestants whether you liked them or not and I think all of them had produced stronger vocals than this current crop and I haven't even included the also rans in last years competition who also had their share of stellar vocals (Amy's sin wagon). This year it feels like an audition show where last year at times I felt I was watching performers , I know Fantasia wasn't the most popular contestant of all time but to me she was the best ,no contest and it will be interesting to see how she compares to the other contestants when she performs next week , I figure she's going with something to prove and I'm really looking forward to the excitement returning to this show

Hi, a newbie to messageboard. Below are my thoughts from the show screened on itv 2 last night...

Bo.... Not a fan of his, poor performance

Jessica......I thought she sang the song very well, however bit harsh been voted out, when there were other dire performers.

Anwar Robinson....mmmm nice guy, but not good enough for me. I thought he shouted his way through his song.

Nadia.......she did ok, reminds me alot of Mel b from spice girls!

Constantine...... Again not a big fan of his, very inconsistent and felt it took him ages to pull off a good performance.

Nikko Smith - well this bobby brown wannabe seems to be improving all the time. very lucky to be in the top 12 anyway, so maybe he is now playing the game and thinks he can win it!!!! good luck to him.

Anthony Fedorov - Very poor version - should never ever even be in top 100, let alone top 12.

Carrie - Excellent strong performance. One of my favourites to win the competition. Added bonus aswell she is a hot chick and she defiantly has the X factor.

Scott Savol - Another wannabe gangster. this guy, along with AF should never ever been in the top 12. I have not got the faintest idea what American sees in him. Maybe I'm missing the plot with him,or maybe they show a different programme in the usa. This guy has never been in tune.

Vonzel - Improving all the time. I though her song was better then Whitney's!!!! Excellent performance form Vonsel.

There are not many strong performers in the competition this season. Looks like a clear 1 horse race for Carrie to win.

What a night!

I cannot believe some of the terrible performances given!

Scott That has to be the worst finals performance of any PI/AI show I have EVER seen. It was so terribly bad. How did he get voted in? This guy is dreadful...with open or closed eyes.

Anwar Mr Complacency at it again. A poor Stevie Wonder sound-a-like. This guy just isn't trying hard. He sounds like he's gone through the song once, picked at the last minute and 'had a go'. Really annoys me that he's there, when people like Jessica get booted off.

Carrie I really loved Carrie, but I'm going off her. I know why now. As much as her voice is incredible and she's so gorgeous, she has no performance style at all. She reminds me of Kelly Clarkson...the way that her voice is great, but she doesn't seem to enjoy performing and looks like she can't wait to finish. She just kinda...stands there, closes her eyes and sings.

Nadia Much, much better week. Nadia is soooo unconvincing for me, though. All that screwed up face and stage stomping...it just doesn't wash. Something so 'not right' about Nadia. Hope she goes soon.

Constantine Not a bad rendition of the song...I love that song. I just find Connie so NOT sexy when it's what he's trying to be. I find him so unconvincing with the 'puppy dog' eyes...more like a cow being milked for me. Yuk. Hope he goes soon...but he won't. Drat.

Anthony Sing some rock, boy. You know you want to! That performance was booooring. Steg is right...BURN THAT SHIRT. Get yer specs back on....I liked you better!

Nikko I liked Nikko tonight. Thought he did very well.

Jessica I LOVE this girl's voice. I just love it. I find her the most versatile of all the girls...that voice can do rock, country, pop...whatever. And she gets booted? No fair. I am going to really miss Jess.

Bo As I have said before, I cannot be objective about this rock demon of a gorgeous man. Voice was great, clothes would have much better...if they were just....off
Love Bo. Love him, love him, love him.

Vonzell Well, just how amazing was The Vonz? Steg's girl was just the biz tonight. Best performance of the night (again!). Getting better every week. Really taking over the show, I think. Loving this stunning girl with the shockingly fab voice. And just how nice is she? This girl is adorable. Love her.

Paula - OMG. What is she NOT on? Jings...I can see her all over the National Enquirer....checking into a clinic. Poor Paula. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for her now.

Simon - fab as usual.

Randy - better. He was just alright for me, man. Just alright.

Seacrest - yuk.

Bo and The Vonz for the final . I hope!

Week after week so many girls in the bottom 3 even when the boys are worse. Why? Nadia is super. What is wrong with the US public who voted for George Bush? I think I answered my question. Saying that Michelle won our last Pop Idol and Steve the X Factor. Simon loved both of them and they are both awful!

If one was to search for the term "Nikko" in the Oxford English Dictionary you get the following definition:

nikko (pronounced nee-cow)

One who is fixated with defunct 90's R & B to the point of imitation. Often shows signs of illusions of grandeur believing themselves to be a (former) member of "Jodeci" or "BoysIIMen".

See also: "cliché", "stereotype" and "histrionics".

Have only watched the show this morning, and was none too impressed really - I only knew half of the songs, which is probably why.

I agree that Nadia should have been in the bottom 3 - what on earth was she singing?? The boy Cowell was right.

I agree that my lovely Anwar was far too complacent and none too good with that song - just glad he's still in for one last chance.

I never thought I'd be saying this, but I actually thought Constantine and Vonzell were the best last night.

Oh, and who is voting for Scott??? So out of tune and frightening...

Possibly, because Carrie has the apple pie look and middle America background, to interest the Christian Right. Cowell, I have no doubt at all, has seen the opportunity to fleece these morons of their dollars.

I would have bet any money on Constantine and Anthony being two of the bottom three. They were both below par in a pretty weak week.

The sooner Anthony goes the better as far as I'm concerned.I'd like to put him in a cloth sack with Will Young and give it a good kicking.

Vonzell was outstanding though. She has really improved over the last few weeks.I don't know who's favourite because performances differ from one week to the next, but she has really picked herself up at the right time. You go,girl!

for me....
vonzell and constantine were way above the rest.
i have a feeling bo has peaked... and imo he seems to think he's won the whole thing, getting very ott with his whole performances...which just aren't improving at all. the same applies to carrie...lovely voice but, no stage presence. neither of them seem desperate to win, due to the judges continued praises of them being the ones to beat.
imo the judges are wrong and i have afeeling that the 2 improvers (vonzell and connie ) will, in fact , be the ones to beat.

sorry i didn't mention the rest...but, they are just not cutting it for me.

He also much preferred Gareth Gates to Will Young and was totally wrong about that as well.

Will Young is the best pop idol out of the lot of them...........AI included.

Hmmm........why a cloth sack? Personally I`d like to get Will Young in the sack but - alas - he ain`t interested in us mere females.

I only watched the repeat show on ITV2 last night, and thought that Vonzell stood head and shoulders above the rest. Perhaps because I'm a Whitney Houston fan, but I love that song, and she sang it as well as the original. She has a fantastic voice and range.

But that`s the point...........she sang it like the original........so what? She didn`t put her own style or interpretation on the song. Totally unoriginal. Having a good voice ain`t enough.

That's one opinion , though I love Will and admire the skills of Kelly and Ruben , noone comes close to Fantasia , who will be throwing down the gauntlet to the remaining contestants this week for a direct comparison . I've been reading that many AI fans will not be watching as they deemed her to be not a worthy winner , and flat out hate her , thats their loss imo

Well I know you`re a big admirer of Fantasia. I remember this Forum last year!

I just have never liked her singing or theatrical performance skills. All those "yeah yeahs" really started to grate on my nerves. However, I don`t hate her. I don`t know her.

I think it has been hard for the Bible Belt to swallow the fact she`s a single mother and won AI. But small-minded bigotry ain`t my cup of tea and if they chose not to watch a show just because she`s appearing on it then it says more about them (and the religion they profess to follow) than anything else. Me? I`ll just turn down the sound when she`s on!

Not that I agree, but I would like to know what is wrong with holding idols of decency? Is it so wrong to have role models and to want them to set good examples?

Since when did teenagers want to adopt role models that their parents find acceptable?!

However, I do think that being in the "public eye" does require some level of responsibility.......eg. not encouraging smoking etc etc........but at the end of the day it is the parents who are responsible for instilling values in their children, not the role models the children admire. But that topic could start a whole new Thread!

Think you have answered the question yourself The problem is kids do look up to pop stars as icons more so then parents. Give me A Clay* over some others I could mention any day of the week

*in a strictly heterosexual role-model way you understand

Is this meant to apply that Clay is straight and therefore more worthy than Will , because i'm not sure I'm with you on that
