I believe you have to give 30 days notice, so even if your contract ended on the 4th you've still got to pay for an additional month's service.

When did you think your contract ended? Did you get the date right?

Do you have an online account with them where you can check your bills? Something may be of use there.

If your idea of huge is 75 quid you are living in the wrong century.
I filled up my ageing (2002), knackered Peugeot 406 Diesel today and it cost 78 quid!

Well that's wrong right there.

You always get a final bill.

Asking for a PAC doesn't end a contract, because you could choose not to use it, which would keep the contract going and therefore you'd keep getting billed. And it's normal practice to send a final bill even if it's £0 just to say that everything is cleared up.

I wasn't missing the point.
I took issue with the word "huge" and £75.
That's roughly what it cost to take my kids to Vue last weekend and as I say, to fill up the car.
You want huge... try my last tax bill.. and I still don't have any cash!!!!

If you cancel mid billing cycle, do they pro-rata your allowances? If so, maybe it's excess usage charges if you went over the pro-rata'd amount?

Filling up our car is about the same, but I'd still think £75 is huge for a mobile bill.

My bills are £15 a month, so £75 would have me going 'Whaaaaat?!'.

As you pay line rental in advance, the actual last bill should be near to zero. Of course, as said, you do need to use the PAC code. But if the bill is normally half that then there are questions to be asked - as even if you didn't go ahead and cancel, you'd still expect to pay the standard line rental.
