EE Sharon needs a defining storyline
I think since her return 3 years ago yes shes had her fair share of storylines but for an original character and matriarch of the show i really think she needs a big storyline this year to really put her back on the map. i feel tney now potray her as an unlikeable character and not forgetting she ruled the early 90s and naughties.
Plus a denny recast is clearly on the way. |

No matter how big the storyline, I guarantee poor black clothing, eye bulging to show furiousness, and the over-acting being turned up to 11.

The show is packed with great characters and better actors. We all want to see our favourites get a big s/l. She's had plenty of airtime, time for the likes of Kat, Stacey, Carol, Whitney and Denise to get a look in.

She isn't a matriarch! Phil is head of the Mitchells not Sharon and she's not a matriarch of the Square. For some reason the word matriarch is used wrongly by Eastenders fans and overused. As for her fair share of stories what else do you think she should do next? Like you say she's had stories but hasn't really shone. I don't like the way Sharon is acted by Letitia Dean. She's too panto and pure ham. I would be glad if she went on a long holiday, preferably for good. In my opinion.
A matriarch is the glue of a family; the one that keeps them together. If Sharon left Phil, the Mitchell family wouldn't fall apart. They wouldn't even budge. |

Sharon is as much of a matriarch as Linda and Shirley are. Absolutely not at all.

Sharon is a matriarch because she had been sorting out the Mitchells. Long live Sharon. Loving what they are doing to her
![]() Phil will always be the head of the Mitchells but Sharon is definitely Ma Mitchell. So glad she is staying for many years. She is very iconic. |

Although she has improved I find it very hard to take her seriously after she forgave the Philth so quickly for all of the despicable things he had done to her.

Sharon has been involved with many other characters storylines, been integrated into the Mitchells, has her own story with her bio family and is now searching for her Dad. I think that is enough.

I like the fact Sharon is back to her old self but I agree she needs a storyline of her own that doesn't end up being hijacked by other characters. I suspect her dad is going to turn out to be Kathy's husband so that's another storyline down the drain if that happens.

Sharon is idolised because she is an original. It looks like Kathy is getting the same treatment. Both mediocre. |

Sharon can't carry a major storyline surely folks realise that by now. She just isn't good enough. There is a reason she was kept well clear of live episodes! I don't mind Sharon as an ongoing character and slotting her away behind Phil is a good option but she just can't act anything other than everyday interaction. She just can't generate sincerity so her friendships just seem like plot devices whether it be Tanya or Linda. Put these actresses with other actresses like Jane or Kat etc and it works. The attempt at making her a mother failed as there was no on screen connection and you can't blame the kid.

It's very telling when her haters are mainly females.

I don't hate Sharon by the way, I just find her completely blah. |

I like her friendship with Linda because it's very believable and they have good friendship chemistry as Letitia Dean and Kellie Bright are close friends. Gillian Taylforth is a very good actress. She was phenomenal in the Phil alcoholism storyline. I hope Kathy will get lots of screentime. |

Surely that's a joke. She isn't anywhere near being one of the more attractive women in EE. I'm female and my favourite character is Lauren who is stunning.

Tish Dean is nearly 50 so she can't be "attractive" forever. Tish is actually a lovely lady in real life.

I don't see any 'haters' in this thread. Or any comments about Letitia's looks.

Although I agree with this statement, I tend to ignore it. Its probably better not to take their posts seriously about Sharon/Letitia Dean. It's only a fictional show. I do get annoyed when people are nasty about her weight/looks. The same goes for Shirley/Linda Henry.
