why it followed Masterchef I will never know, it would have been better on before instead of being sandwiched between the excellent Masterchef and the rather dull Strictly.

If EastEnders is doing so well enough people would have tuned into Yesterdays Episode oviously people arn't as excited anymore to see the next episode or it would have done well.

Last nights duff duff aside, the last four or five episodes have been really good. It shows that if you put Jessie Wallace at the centre of the drama, without bloody Shane Richie, you get quality!
The ratings are a shame but I've stopped worrying about it now. The ratings won't effect Eastenders, it's here for the long haul. If it doesn't hit 50, I'll be very, very surprised! All that matters is that I'm really enjoying it right now. Sure there are always little niggly issues here and there but for the most part, it's been great. |

It's not that bad considering it's a schedule changed and out of it's usual slot, could be much worse.

I'm shocked how bad Eastenders has actually been since the live week ended. After the 25th anniversary at least there was the aftermath of Bradley's death, the arrival of the E20 characters and Carol, Billie ect. settling back into the square, which was all mildly entertaining. Since the 30th anniversary ended though it's just been Carter rubbish and nothing happening. Disappointed so far, hopefully things will pick up.
Fair enough if you're not interested in these characters, but plenty of us are. |

Only it hasn't. We've had Dot and Charlie arrested, Kim struggling with motherhood and her fear of Vincent, Sharon finding out her mother died, meeting her brother and looking for her real father, and Kat finding out that her daughter doesn't want her in her life, on top of her usual money struggles. Then there is Shabs/Kush, Carol/Billy, Cindy/Liam and Nancy/Tam and Les' debt secrets.
Fair enough if you're not interested in these characters, but plenty of us are. |

I'm pretty sure this can be put down to it being a Wednesday & out of its usual schedule; I'm a religious EE viewer & even I forgot it was on!
The night before it was top of the ratings with over 7 million viewers tuning in, you don't naturally lose that many viewers overnight unless it's a simple case of people not realising it's on. Nothing to panic about people |

I'm usually clued up on the schedule changes but I totally missed last night's episode.
When the show is regularly hitting 5m then this discussion will be worth having. |

It's been dreadful since live week ended. Clearly all the effort went into live week, and none whatsoever into sustaining that level of interest once live week had ended. The last three weeks have been really boring. Terrible continuity (didn't four episodes cover just one day last week?!), cliched writing and far too much of the awful Carters.
DTC has made EastEnders all about him, not about the show. Once he's gone, wouldn't surprise me in the least if the show hit the skids again. He hasn't really fixed a lot of the things which are fundamentally wrong with EE: *Poor day-to-day episodes *Too heavy going *Too slow *Bland writing *Lots of old faces but where are the new, rising stars? Not in the Carter family, that's for sure! He's not a terrible producer but he's vastly overrated, nonetheless. I've switched EE off for the time being - clearly there is nothing doing until the Beales return. |

People will always have an excuse as to why Eastenders has low ratings, on the wrong day so no one knew about it, just after a big week, against football blah blah blah. Time and again people dismiss others less positive views on Eastenders. The fact is the 30th was a big let down, it is currently rather boring and the excuse that it can't be great all the time is absolute balderdash. They should be putting out the same standard of work all the time not just for a big event. Programmes like Silent Witness manage to put out series after series of quality storylines, if they dared put out the crap that Eastenders currently are they would get dropped.
