I do like Kat, but found it a bit silly when she was so adamant she didn't want the money, then she REALLY wanted it ("It's what I'm owed!") then she didn't want it again.

Then the ending the past two episodes have been quite abrupt, and delivered by the wooden Laila Morse, at least give it to Lacey Turner who can act.

It just seems weird that this time three weeks ago was the 30th anniversary and now this?

I made a thread about the very abrupt endings. The editing last night on the duff duff was so quick.

I definitely noticed weird editing last night, everything was short and choppy so there was no natural rhythm. I think all the writers at the moment are new too.

If it wasn't for the talent and innate watchability of Jessie Wallace I would probably be losing interest a bit, but the episodes with Kat taking centre stage, the Thursday four hander, Friday and Tuesday have all been very strong.

Like was said on the other thread, when these episodes were made, most of the 'Live Week' actors were rehearsing elsewhere. So it could be that we are left with a bit of a mish mash at the moment, with non-live-show actors being brought back lout of the woodwork. But it could also be that, because these same actors have had little development of their characters for quite a while now, any scene with them is going to have limited content - hence the smaller scenes and limited background.

And with Kat herself, I understand that she is in 'two minds' about the decision on taking her 'inheritance', but it isn't being portrayed very well. and I think that's as much to do with how the program is edited, rather than with JW's acting.

Just hope they all get their act together again soon .

Some of the s/ls have been choppy. First Sharon was broke and threatening to leave Phil, next she's fine with him buggering off and avowing to get Dot the best lawyer money can buy. Meanwhile she finds out her mother is dead, meets her brother, who might as well have been the milkman for all the emotion she showed, and then her dad's letters leave her mildly curious. It was all so flat.

It's nothing to do with the writers. They don't decide how long the "doof doof" moment goes on for. It's the directors and the editors.

DTC is away at the moment - perhaps this is why the content has been underwhelming.

Very, very flat. Some very mediocre episodes and I'm dreading an hour of filler tonight!

Next week looks awful. It needs to improve! Idk what's going on!

Sorry, I didn't phrase that well, I know the choppy editing isn't because of new writers, I meant it as something that might be a separate issue.

Lacey Turner saved the episode last night. I really hate Stacey and Kat scenes.

I totally agree. The live week must have taken a huge amount of planning and effort. What we are seeing at the moment is a catch up with the other characters who weren't involved.
