Fingers crossed Samantha returns for the long haul after filming of Mount Pleasant is wrapped up. She has had three breaks since Lorraine Newman brought her back (admittedly it was originally meant for 6 months).

If she leaves I hope it's not for a while I'd miss Ronnie if she leaves again

I think she'll kill Charlie or have him killed, and that will be her leaving story, shes not going to take kindly to roxy and charlies affair.

Surely Sam was back filming in January after her panto finished so I would have thought she would appear again this month. I thought maybe same time frame as Steve/Phil who is back in a couple of weeks. Her break is for 3 weeks this month which wouldn't be airing until May time would it not?

I don't quite get why their breaks have been so long this year for panto. Last year, Ronnie (and Roxy) returned at the beginning of March, and Phil was already back by then.
I know there's been the live stuff, but they were hardly in it, so I would have expected them both to be back by now. |

Not really...he does it every blooming year. You'd think he didn't get paid enough. I've seen other actors getting it in the neck just for taking the holidays they're entitled to.
EastEnders would be nothing without Phil these days. |

I usually defend actors who have various breaks but I do find Sam / Ronnie's breaks excessive. She was away for the majority of last year and it's now mid-March and has bearly appeared since the crash.
I love the character and appreciate that she has commitments elsewhere but it's so annoying. |

Wait until he returns. Big time gangster Vincent will strike the fear of God into everyone on the square until the Philth threatens him and he is suddenly reduced to a quivering pool of yellow jelly - just like every other gangster of 'hardman' who ever comes into contact with him. Yawn. I want Max to win their feud but they will never allow it. |

I actually prefer the show without TPTB's living God - at least the male characters can interact in a realistic manner.

I don't miss him right now at all. Eastenders is refreshing without Phil.
I agree with this. I'm sick of Phil raising his voice and younger, fitter hardmen pooping themselves. It's got to stop. This will go on for decades until he is ordering 'hardmen' to his house so that he can threaten them from his stairlift before his afternoon nap and cup of hot milk. |
