I'm thinking of replacing my "Sanyo Music System" (No, not Harvey Smith's long gone show jumping horse).

Should I go for something small

Something a bit bigger.

Even bigger

Go the whole hog.

Or say sod it all and go back to my old my steam driven turntable?

The price of meths and paraffin these days is scandalous. It's not like the old days with Esso Blue. Let's not even get in to the debate about the power bill for running those valves

Go green, I say. Try something along these lines, but make sure it plays at 33 1/3rd too

Unfortunately, I don't think you can turn them up loud enough to annoy the neighbours. It'[s usually the deterioration of the mica resonators, that cause the problem.

So I'll have to stick with one of my other toys.

How about a pair of speakers like this.

Handy to hide behind when the neighbours come banging on the door complaining about the noise as well

Ah, you didn't say that in the OP. In that case why not go for something like this
