Phone blocks notifications from a single contact
Hi. Hoping someone can see what is going wrong here - probably something simple.
My Mum has a Moto E mobile, and any time I call her, the call goes straight to voicemail. Her phone doesn't ring, ping or beep, and she doesn't get a notification at all in the notifications bar, but if I open her phone app, my number is listed as having called her. Similarly, if I send her a text message, she doesn't get a notification at all in the notifications bar and the notifications LED doesn't flash, but if I open up her messaging app, there is a new message from me sitting there waiting impatiently to be read! This only happens with my number (so far! All other numbers that contact her regularly seem ok at the moment). Putting aside the paranoia that she doesn't want to speak to me , we really need to get this sorted soon because there have been a couple of occasions recently where I couldn't get in touch with her, therefore I couldn't find out where she was so I could pick up my son from her. It's no use asking her to keep checking her phone regularly cos she keeps forgetting (but so would I!).I'm going to try getting her to delete my contact completely, and I'll delete her contact from my phone, then set them up again - this is in the hope that if either phone has a setting causing the contact to withold notifications, deleteing the contact should remove the problem. If the problem were to persist after this then its more likely a need to contact her/my provider to check. Cheers in advance |

I dont know about the MotoE, but I would guess that some how your number has been set to ignore/block/silent. Somewhere is the settings (possible in the phone-book and your entry).

My wife managed to block my Iphone 5s on her Samsung Galaxy by treating all my call as spam
She contacted Vodafone who talked her through removing my number from Spam settings Can you see any spam settings against your phone number on your Mums Moto ? |

Couldn't see anything like that. What I DID do yesterday was I deleted my contact from her phone. I called her from my mobile and her phone rang! Sent her a text message and the usual lack of notification occurred, but when I made a second attempt at texting her (after my sister called and texted her successfully as a test), everything worked fine!
Just added my details as a new contact after that and all ok. Now she's got no excuse!!! ![]() Thanks for the replies people! |
