Is the Motorola Moto E (2015) actually better than the Motorola Moto G 4G (2015)?

http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_e_(2015)-6986.php I know that the Moto G 4G (2015) has 16 GB storage, a better camera, and a bigger screen, but I am concerned about battery, and the fact that is has a antiquated chipset (Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400). The Moto E (2015) has the same 2390 mAh battery, but a smaller screen to power, and a more modern chipset (Qualcomm Snapdragon 410). Both phones come with Android OS, v5.0.x (Lollipop). While the Moto E only has 8 GB storage, with Lollipop apps can be run off an SD card, so it is not much of an issue. I am starting to think that the cheaper Moto E is now actually the better overall phone. |

The 410 is newer and "better" but they are both built on 28nm architecture with the 410 being 64 bit, for what that is worth. Android 5 does not allow full usage of the SD card to store all apps. For most people a bigger, higher resolution screen and more internal memory would be better features to have rather than a newer chipset. If the battery life on the E did turn out to be significantly better in real world use then that may be good for some. But if a phone can get you through a heavy day that is good enough, being able to do a day and half doesn’t offer much benefit. Two days would be the time to sit up and notice.

Moto E
I have had a Moto E for three months and I personally think it is the best mobile I have had. Slightly heavier than previous Samsung's and Nokis's I used. The only negative side has been sending and receiving mms pictures including emocions. As I have posted a separate title on this I won't digress.

The original Moto E is a cracking phone. In 2011 it would have been one of the best phones on the market.
