RND/EE 2001: Who remembers this Comic Relief/EE sketch from 2001...
....based around the Who Shot Phil? plot from that year with the late Mel Smith playing Exec Producer and him trying to decide who the culprit is? It features a lot of the cast trying to eavesdrop and find out for themselves.
I was just looking through some old Red Nose Day clips on YouTube and came across it. I don't remember it at all but it's quite funny Part 1: http://youtu.be/SPEFS9TEfSU Part 2: http://youtu.be/C2MS-UtuQVc |

Yeah i remember it, it was a good sketch, EastEnders was fantastic back then so many great characters, the show has improved dramatically over the last year or so but it still isn't a patch on 2001.

"Can't we bring Den back?"
"He's dead!" "So?" "We never saw the body!" "But they found a corpse with his wedding ring on." "Some could have nicked it." "And... and... they nicked his teeth!" "Right, we feed in a line from Pauline about nobody knew Den had false teeth." "So someone nicked his teeth and he was wearing them when he fell into the canal?" Did life later imitate art?

What was that sketch from where Dot popped out from the end of a bed? I swear it was a comedy skit but I forget from where. Recall that Lisa was part of it too. Might be wrong.
EDIT: Never mind, just checked out the clip. I remember the 14 year old me peeing myself laughing at that. |

Ha! That's great! I've never seen it before. Brilliant how they manage to tap into behind the scenes EastEnders in such a clever way. Had to laugh at them debating whether or not Den was really dead. Also nice to see a bit extra from a hugely successful era for the show. They ruled everything then.

So would I. As much as I love the song and dance numbers that they usually do for Children In Need it would be nice to see them doing a comedy skit like this again where a lot of the cast who don't usually do the musical numbers could get involved. It was good to see people like Dot, Peggy, Pat & Phil and even some of the regular extras like Winston involved in this.
Do wish more of the cast tried both and got out of their comfort zone for the charities because it's not about staying in comfort zone it's about the fun and the lols aswell as the charities. Info love Their musical things and their sketches though xD |
