Tesco Mobile planning selling their own contracts only. They are also cutting out its mobile distributors from its supply chain to go direct to manufactures allegedly.

The move will come as a blow to distributors Tech Data Mobile, Exertis UK and Brightstar. The supermarket giant's mobile division is estimated to provide over £150m of annual trade across the three distributors.

Sources say Tesco launched the strategy after trialling its direct distribution model with mobile manufacturers.

The decision to cut out mobile distributors closely follows Tesco's decision to phase out mobile operator contract deals from its Tesco Phone Shops, as part of plans to only sell Tesco Mobile contract deals to its customers.

Isn't is Tesco planning to sell only Tesco Mobile contracts? Because Tesco Mobile only sells its own contracts.

They are one the same. Previously Tesco used to offer contracts on all the major networks, which I always thought was strange. Anyway since the new CEO has come on board he has put the kybosh on areas that lose the company money, third party networks was one such area I believe. I think only recently Tesco (Mobile) has begun to get its arse in gear, even though they have a lot of customers on their MNVO it never really seemed their priority (as I say till now).
