I am looking for a micro USB to iPad mini 2 cable to transfer some photos from my Samsung s3 to a iPad mini 2. Does such a cable exist? I have been looking on Amazon but cannot find any. Thanks.

No, you would need to transfer from the S3 to a computer and then from the computer to the iPad. There is no cable to directly link and do what you want.

Might be easier to do it via a cloud service like Dropbox?

The USB spec does not allow for 2 "client" devices to be connected directly together.
You can't for example connect one PC directly to another.
This is why you can't buy a USB A to USB A male cable,
You would literally short out the motherboards and blow them up!

What about a hub that plugs into the iPad and has slots for regular and micro SD cards?
