Vectone Mobile/Now PAYG - Any good?

I'm coming to the end of contract with Three at the end of this month and looking to get a cheaper tariff as I've no interest in renewing. I've looked at The People's Operator which has only 3GB data for £15pm plus it has 2G fallback as it runs on EE. But I do like the Unlimited Data I have with my Three sim. I have come across two networks with tariff's that interest me. They both have Unlimited Data and 2G as they run on the EE network.

£20 - Unlimited minutes, Unlimited texts, Unlimited data.

Hi, I have had experience in using the Now Mobile network and I think this would be a better option myself, normally Vectone hide hidden fair usage policies on their "Unlimited Data" but this may no longer be the case. One thing to bare in mind with Now Mobile is you need a minimum of 50p credit balance in order for the internet bundles to work, however if you top-up by card you get 10% free credit anyway, not sure if the minimum credit balance applies to Vectone but last time i used them I don't remember that being the case.

No sure if you're unhappy with Three of just want to reduce cost. Three currently offer a PAYG "All In One 15" 30 day add-in for £15 that includes 300 mins, 3000 texts and AYCE "4G "data plus feel at home etc. Not as many minutes and those you mention but 4G if that's of interest. There's also some monthly sim only plans that inlcuded tethering but cost more.

Agreed with joeluken If 3 provides the 3G coverage you need to use your phone where you will need to use it then they may be the better option overall, however if you require more minutes and like you said the benefit of 2G fallback in places where you may not recieve adequete 3G signal then one of the EE mvno's may well suit you better, all depends on your needs and whether 4G is going to be of use or benefit to you.

yea 3 on pa as you go for £15 is good 300mins 3000 texts unlimited data

People talk about EE but if you are going 3GB you need to be aware that Three might feel the fastest of them al by a decent margin.
The reason being that EE has high latency, that also meaning slower web browsing according to Ofcom.

There has also passed 98% coverage so only certain scenarios need 2G.

The issue I have with my EE sim is that it drops to 2G very quickly in some areas I use whilts Three hangs on to 3G so I can still use data for streaming music etc whereas I can't on EE. EE as better 4G coverage but I'm not sure if any EE OVNO's have access to its 4G and EE direct ain't cheap.

Nothing wrong with Three, just the masts in my area let me down really sometimes 3G can be a bit patchy indoors in some areas of town along with very slow data speeds. But if you go outside of town to either Welshpool, Kerry, Llanidloes/Caersws then you have perfect speeds of at least 1.5megabytes, been waiting for Three to increase Capacity to the mast slow and keep getting told another 3 months, its now been over a year and a half. The date just keeps getting pushed back. Plus no 4G yet, it was rumored this year as they wanted to focus on Mid Wales a little more but somehow I don't see it happening.

Anyways, I just want to lower the cost a little. So I'm considoring EE and Three, as o2 and vodafone have very little coverage in my area. I am also considoring the All in One £15 PAYG Bundle and the £17 AYCE 12month Sim Only plan. But i saw the Vectone and Now PAYG and thought...hmm 2G fallback and Unlimited Data Plus I thought I had read somewhere that the All in One £15 bundle was gonna be taken away soon. Any truth to this?

I've also found in the Terms and Condition of Vectone that after 3GB speed is reduced to 64kbits. But can't seem to find anything about that sort of thing on Now PAYG, does that mean there aren't any restrictions with Now PAYG?

Yeah, their website doesn't let on very much does it.
Interesting on the monthly plans where it goes to 64Kbps rather than just stopping (like EE themselves do)
It appears you then start paying for this though at standard rates.
Started to lose the will to live then though so couldn't be bothered to see what the standard rate were.
EEs website is bad enough but Vectone really don't want to answer those kind of questions which would put me off right away.
I much prefer to have the data stop and either pay for more or wait till the monthly roll-over.
In fact having a scan on several of the MVNO sites, they all seem a bit secretive on these very important questions.
Nah.... I'll keep paying more to EE. At least I know where I am.

Now Mobile's unlimited data offers are truely unlimited in the fact there is NO mentioning of a fair usage cap.
